What better reason to explore France, than le Tour?
The world's most famous cycle race is in full swing, and with the Continent a mere ferry or train ride away you could be part of the action.
The 95th Tour de France begins at Brest, Brittany, on 5 July and finishes with a spectacular celebration on the Champs-Élysées, Paris, on 27 July. The gruelling race will see riders cover 3,500 km in 21 stages and this year takes the convoy into Italy. The 10 new stop-over towns are Auray, Aigurande, Brioude, Prato Nevoso (Italy), Cuneo (Italy), Jausiers, Embrun, Roanne, Cérilly, Étampes.
