Understanding the AA Ratings
The AA has been inspecting and recommending accommodation since 1908. And we have been using our nationally-recognised star ratings since 1912.
Our rating systems have evolved and developed continuously to match consumer expectations and industry standards. And now we have a comprehensive process of inspection and accreditation that is consistent with the three national tourism bodies of the UK (VisitBritain, VisitScotland and Visit Wales).
