"I fixed the tractor then ran like hell"

"You know it’s not just cars and motorbikes that we get called out to fix. If it’s mechanical we can usually help.

"On one occasion I got a call from a farmer whose tractor had broken down in a field. After showing me where it was, he said he had some things to do and left me to it.

"Anyway, it was quite an old tractor with some rusty parts so I thought it would take me about an hour to put right. As it turned out I managed to fix in 45 minutes, which was lucky because just as I was packing up I got a call from the farmer. He told me that he had just let his bull into the field and, if I closed the gate quickly and got into my van, the bull probably wouldn’t get me. Run? I grew wings."
