"My partner and I are a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers tribute act – and we’re very good, even though I say so myself. We're very busy putting on shows up and down the country, so we really rely on our car as we’re on the road a lot. The last thing we need is for it to break down – especially on the way to a gig. However, last October that’s exactly what happened. Thankfully we’re both members of the AA.
"We were stranded on a remote road outside Ashford, Kent, where with live, having just set off for a show for 500 'country and western' fans. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the weather was shocking – windy with torrential rain.
"Anyway, the AA said that a patrol would be with us in about 40 minutes, so to while away the time we put on one of our CDs. When the patrol arrived, he re-wired the ignition loom and got the engine going again. Just before we set off to entertain our fans, he asked us what the CD was. When we told him it was us as Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, he was so impressed that he booked us for his wife’s birthday party. Thankfully we got to the gig without any further problems and our show went on.
"So Europe’s leading Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers tribute act would like to pay tribute to, in our opinion, the UK’s leading breakdown service."
