"I’ve attended some very unusual breakdowns during my time in this job. One involved a broken down mini-digger. So by and large, we’re prepared for anything that comes our way.
"There’s always an exception to the rule of course. I remember one call-out I had that was to fix a fan. Naturally I assumed that it was in a car and that the belt had broken or something. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
"When I arrived at the address I’d been given it turned out to be a factory. Obviously there were cars parked in the car park outside – nothing strange so far. I presented myself to the receptionist and said I was here to fix the fan and could she tell the car owner I was here. She then told me that the fan needing fixing was the one on the factory roof! It’s a good job I’m not afraid of heights."
