"As I’m based in a rural area, I often get called out to members who are farmers. Not only to fix their cars, but also farm vehicles such as tractors. They can be very interesting jobs in more ways than one.
"For example there was one farmer who thanked me for fixing his beaten-up old Land Rover by shoving a plastic bag into my hands. Inside were two dead pheasants. Great I thought, that’s tonight’s dinner sorted.
"However, I’m no cook and when I showed them to my wife she just screamed and said she wouldn’t touch them. Our next-door neighbours gladly took them though and apparently they were extremely tasty. Humph."
