"When I first got the call about a raccoon that had climbed into the dashboard of a car, my first thought was that it must be a wind-up. After all, I was just a trainee AA patrol. But no, it was for real.
"Apparently, a couple had just collected Axl, their pet raccoon, from a breeder when they decided to stop for a coffee. While they were out of the car, Axl managed to pick the lock on his cat carrier and decided to snooze behind the dashboard.
"Even after I'd dismantled the dashboard he wasn’t keen on the idea of having to come out. So what next?
"Whistling didn't work. Neither did tempting him with a Penguin biscuit.
"Then I had the idea of using my air compressor to 'encourage' him out. It worked. Now the lads call me Rocky Raccoon."
