"Even though I'm a student, I still manage to run a car. It's my first one and it's my pride and joy.
"I was driving to university for a lecture when the clutch suddenly disintegrated at a crossroads. As I'd only replaced it six months before – at great expense – I was not pleased to say the least.
"Who was the first person I called? My mum of course. And, as I had no money on me, she arranged for me to join the AA on the spot. When the AA patrol arrived, he soon spotted that it was the new clutch that was the problem and asked me which company had fitted it and how long ago. When I told him, he said it was still under warranty, so I wouldn't have to pay for it to be fixed – which was music to my ears.
"The problem was that the nearest branch was in Nottingham and we were in Warwick – 65 miles away!
"Not to be deterred, the patrol hitched my car to his van and towed me all the way there. Fantastic! Although I did miss my lecture."
