"I remember a cute little story from a while back that still brings a smile to my face. A family of four – mum, dad and two children – had broken down on the motorway and were parked on the hard shoulder.
"I was told to put the car on the back of my truck and get them off the motorway to a safer location.
"All the time I was loading the car onto my truck the little girl, who was about six, was pestering her father about something. And every time she did he would tell her to be quiet. I tried to take no notice and get on with my job.
"Anyway, after I had strapped the car down, I got all four of them into the back of my truck and jumped into the driver’s seat ready to go.
“But Daddy. I want to know,' said the little girl. 'Ask him, please.'
"So I turned round and said, 'Go on Daddy, it’s ok ask me.'
"With a sheepish grin he replied, 'She wants to know why you’ve turned up on your own.'
When I looked blank he hastily added, 'She’s seen the AA commercials on TV and was expecting 50 of you to come over that hill singing.'
"Never wanting to let our members down, I then tried singing a few bars of 'You’ve got a friend'. Thankfully, that was enough for the little girl."
