"The AA rescued our weekend away"

"Although I live in Northern Ireland, I have a very good friend who lives in Newcastle upon Tyne. Last August, I decided to visit her for a weekend and took another girlfriend with me.
"The day after we got to Newcastle, all three of us decided to do a bit of shopping at the Metro Centre in Gateshead, to get a few things for our girlie night out.
"We went in my friend’s car. However, when she parked in the car park, we notice that there was a bit of smoke coming out from under the bonnet.
"Luckily, we're all members of the AA and immediately phoned them up. They assured us that there was nothing to worry about and that a patrol would be with us in about 40 minutes. We decided to make the best of a bad situation and went to get our nails done while we waited.
"The AA kept us informed throughout, and when the patrol arrived he towed the car to a garage and reassured us that he would have us back on the road in time for our night out – which he did!"
