Originally Cupra was Seat's performance division (hence models like the Seat Ibiza Cupra), but it officially split in 2018. Still sitting under the Volkswagen Group umbrella, it launched with the sporty Ateca SUV in 2018, before releasing its first bespoke model in 2020 with the more coupe-styled Formentor SUV.

Both are ideally suited to families wanting a bit more fun, while more recently there's been the arrival of the Born as Cupra's first electric car. With further EVs and hybrids on the way, Cupra is a fresh upcoming brand that is right on the money in terms of market trends.
