I bought my Audi A1 last year. I am pleased the technology of the car. but after driving it for a while I am disappointed. I expected more from a premium brand like Audi. Cheap plastics on the inside of the doors. Lack of sound proofing at motor way speeds and wind noise and tyre roar not a nice clunk when closing the doors either ! I feel Audi have let themselves down. With the use of cheap looking plastics in the interior. Not even a centre armrest as standard.

A very good small car albeit an expensive one.Nice interior although one or two bits of trim are not quite up to usual Audi standard.Performance from the 1500 engine is more than adequate with good refinement and a quick and responsive DSG gearbox.Minus points are the ride quality over potholes etc and the intrusive road noise on some surfaces.

Owned my 2016 Audi A1 for four months now and I absolutely love it. Yes, it was 5 years old when I bought it but had done less than 11,000 miles so looked, felt and smelt like new! Audi is a premium brand and you pay a premium price, but it is surprisingly very economical to run and VED is only £30 a year. The look and feel both inside and out is good quality and has that premium feel. Very nippy around town and good on the motorway too. The 5 door offers additional practicalities. 'Official' car review sites state space is limited in the back and boot space isn't massive; yes this is true to an extent and it's not the car to go for if you're looking for something family friendly or you often ferry around adult passengers, but if you generally use it on your own or even as a couple, it's perfect. If you're looking for a supermini which is great around town and on the motorway alike, is economical to run (albeit a little expensive to buy) but doesn't compromise on quality, is pretty fun to drive and offers the practicalities when required, then the Audi A1.4 TFSI Sportback may be the car for you. I plan on keeping it as long as possible.

I bought an A1 as a commuter car in 201 with slime trim and an automatic gearbox. It’s an extremely comfortable, well put together car, a step ahead of the slightly larger Golf although you don’t get the same capacity. Not a lot of them on the road so nice to have something a little different from other hatchbacks. I’d recommend the automatic gearbox as it improves the cars performance and works great for long trips. 1.2 engine is boosted by a small turbo so plenty of performance for a car this size. Love all the interior extras such as digital display, comfortable seats, ambient lighting etc... Makes much more sense to buy a nice A1 than a larger car as you get z sax kit for your money and the car is big enough.

Originally, back in January 2015, i had wanted and ordered a brand new VW Polo 1.4TDI Bluemotion, but Volkswagen decided due to very poor sales, that the car would not be sold here in the Uk, so they duly refunded my deposit. Next door to the Volkswagen dealership, was the plush recently built Audi premises, so i decided to give them a visit. Still with my substantial deposit cheque, from the same company, i placed an order for a new A1 TDi Sport, in Nano grey, with Silver roofline and optional 17in wheels. Ive owned several Volkswagen vehicles over the years, all of which have provided very reliable and affordable motoring, but never an Audi. My A1, has been a magnificent car to own, and has never had any problems from the first day of ownership, and the build quality still impresses me after three years of owning the car. I bought a 5yr service plan when i bought the car, so servicing has been good value, but i know how much Audi charge for the work carried out, and its not cheap. My car has superb fuel economy, returning an easy 70+mpg , and being tax free is a bonus. Even my insurance for some reason has come down this year. In all, i simply cannot fault my A1, its been a lovely car to own and drive, and i intend holding on to it for quite a few years to come.

Overall a good car to own and drive; economical with power. Ride is a tad hard but I guess to be expected in a smaller car.

Ive had my A1 Sport TDi for nearly a year, and it has been eleven thousand trouble free miles. The Sports suspension suits the driving experience and comfort of the car, not too firm, but offering comfort and great road holding, with my optional 17in alloy wheels. My previous vehicles have all been Volkswagens, and had intended buying a new Polo 1.4TDI Bluemotion, but was eventually told the model would be cancelled and not brought to the Uk afer all. The A1 was the logical step, being a Polo but in much finer clothing. My car has been magnificent, totally trouble free, and returning well over 70mpg on those longer motorway journey's. I had fitted in the factory, a beautiful fully electric glass sunroof, as well as cruise control and Climatic A/C. The car is beautiful to drive and incredibly well screwed together. Its my first experience of Audi ownership, and every has been extremely posotive. I love my A1, and i hope to continue driving it for some years yet.

For a downsizing pensioner this car ticks all boxes bar one - the noticeable and annoying rattly noise of the diesel engine in the cabin at low speeds. I can only think that this is due to lack of decent sound insulation/need for weight reduction. At high speeds however the engine sounds smooth and is responsive. My model is SE with 15" wheels and whilst the ride is far from limo quality it is still acceptable. Acceleration is surprisingly good and average overall fuel consumption is just a tad under 50mpg which I am very pleased with (over three years). The cabin is fairly roomy and with the back seats folded I can transport a bike with the front wheel dropped out. I am pleased I invested in a few extras, heated folding mirrors, parking sensors, drivers info panel and space saver spare tyre. I would buy another A1 but may opt for the petrol model (and pay road tax) just to avoid the annoying diesel noise

The A1 is a great choice for tax efficient driving around town. Whilst not terrible on long journeys, in the s-line certainly, it becomes a little tiresome on longer journeys. It retains Audi's signature solid build quality but simply cannot match it's larger relatives for comfort and noise levels. Around town and on shorter trips on A and B roads it a lively, fun and nippy little car.

I simply love my 2 year old A1 but it would not have been so practical for me when I was younger with three children, school trips, extra luggage, shopping etc. Now, as a retired lady who does about 8 - 10,000 miles only per annum it is ideal - quick, neat, reliable, economical and very smart.

A super little car, cheap to run and practical. My only regret is that when I bought it there wasn't a 5-door version available.

This is the first brand new car I have ever had and I could not refuse the deal Audi were doing on it. It was my daughter who had seen the deal and told me about it and she is waiting to take delivery of the same model when it comes off the production line in the first 2 weeks in December. It is as the name says, A1 and is superb in very way. Nice one Audi and thanks.

Seat belt height is not adjustable, so often ride up across my neck so not very safe.
