Very good Vehicle for the purchace price New

Too many expensive faults. Garage seems unable to solve problems with opening tailgate. Smooth ride. Good for carrying up to seven people, but not enough room for seven people's luggage. Can take seats out and then there's plenty of room - use it like a medium sized van. Quite heavy on fuel - average 35 mpg - but then you would expect that from a car to carry seven people.

Lots of space inside, and most of the seats come out easily. Electrics unreliable - had to replace burnt out fuse box at great expense after only 30,000 miles, and no help from Citroen. 'Depollution system faulty' warning light comes on after long drive - garage can't fix it. Heavy on tyres. Poor fuel consumption despite being diesel - less than 30 mpg.

Even though my Citroen Synergie (not a C8) is getting ol and has done over 160,000 m8iles it is still very reliable and drives well. Some of the items within the car have stopped working (e.g. the cli=ock and the fuel gauge bur apart from that everything os okay. The space the car offers allows me to transport up to 7 people, which comes in ver handy going to away football matches with my son's junior football team. Also, when the seats are taken out it beopcmes an execellent van.

This is an old 1995 Citreon XM 1.5TD VSX which is in good condition with reconditioned engine and gearbox. It is a superb tourer but does not like traffic conditions mainly due to the gearbox being so "notchy" Fuel consumption is relatively high compared with my 2.1 1990 model (in SORN) but performance and pulling power is excellent. It does not have the filter problems of modern diesels and is used now for relatively short journeys for which it is not really suitable. Maintenance is high if anything goes wrong and resale prices very low as it does not keep its value. The modern Citroens have lost their unique designs so this is really the last of the best of Citroen design.

I chose this vehicle to replace the previous Citroen people carrier. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the car except running costs. I was aware of the costs when buying the car so cannot complain but,I have switched to a local garage as I became very unhappy with the cost of using a main dealer. From my perspective this is a very good car, apart from the running costs and CO2 emissions which are higher than I would like.
