Really great little car perfect for getting to work and driving around town. Small on the outside but really big on the inside. Smooth, quiet, and easy to drive.

I have only ever driven semi-auto fiat 500’s, my first being a 59 plate 1.2L pop which although a bit slow was extremely reliable and cheap to run. After upgrading to a 65 plate 0.9L twin-air, I had a gearbox failure warning message appear 2 weeks after purchasing the car from a fiat approved dealership. The issue was ‘resolved’, however after that the car would slip between gears and felt as if it had lost a lot of power, making pulling away at junctions and driving up hills a struggle. I then traded the car in for a 17 plate 1.2L lounge, and have since continued to have similar issues. The car is very slow to change gears and will often slip between them making the car a nightmare to drive. As well as this, the car will often also get stuck in first gear when driving up hills causing great embarrassment when trying to keep up with traffic. It’s a real shame because I absolutely adored my first fiat, however I can’t help but wonder if the newer model (65 plate onwards) cars just aren’t as reliable as they used to be. If you have no issue of buying a pre-15 plate car then I recommend fiat 500’s highly, but if you’re looking for something newer you’re best looking at similar cars like the Toyota Aygo or VW Up

Dashboard display failed at 7,400 miles and 3 years old. Fiat refused to show any goodwill, and the agents charged £45 to confirm that the dashboard display had failed. They estimate £570.68 to fix the problem, which I can ill afford being an OAP.

The most dangerous car I have ever purchased, the biggest mistake of my life, I only got this second hand one owner since I’ve purchased this waste of time car I’ve had so much issues listed below: • the battery was dead of the car • the car is very slow •after couple months I have a problem with the semi-auto gear box •it makes a very loud nose everytime I drive it so embarrassing •took it back to the dealer they said there is nothing wrong with it •ever time I drive it I feel like I’m going to crash it’s doenst drive properly makes a nose the clutch isn’t smooth the break is bad everything is bad! Please do not buy I nearly had an accident in it because of the gear box not functioning properly!!!!! Fiat should not exist the worlds most unreliable car ever do not buy money waste!!!!!!! This car will kill u. Now I’m part exchanging and can not wait to get rid of this waste.

Had since new, June 2015. Only small niggles, quickly sorted by my local Fiat garage. Not getting quoted fuel consumption, but who does?

The Fiat 500 is ideal for two people but lack of space in the rear makes it a little uncomfortable, for passengers, on longer runs. The twin air engine is quite nippy and is economical if you drive carefully.

500X. Good in all respects except fuel consumption which is bad

I love my Fiat 500. It is our second car but gets used for both long and short journeys. It has a great boot for its size and holds all of our weekly shop. I love the design, the durability of design and driving capacity. The car is very comfortable even when driven by my 6ft 4 son. If I were to buy a new car tomorrow it would definitely be another Fiat 500

Just returned from a 'grand tour' from Cumbria to Portsmouth, through Spain/Portugal/Spain/Pyrenees/France back to Cumbria 3,772 miles in 4 weeks and not a moments problem. A grand little car and totally reliable. - even climbing mountains and sometimes driving nearly 1000 km in 1 day. Ours is convertible which is a great asset, even in Cumbria!

I have not had the car 24 hours yet - but love it already. I bought it from Global Automobiles in Blackburn and they gave me lots of information regarding the cars performance, reliability and running costs which was really helpful. Its the first time I have bought a car on my own and they made it so easy.

Great little car as a second car for my wife. We received excellent service from Bristol Street motors in Peterlee. The deal we received was Taylored around our needs. Would definatly recommend the above garage. Vcars made it very easy to find the car we were after in our area.

I purchased this car on the basis of cheap insurance, tax and petrol.I was pleasantly surprised how reliable this car has been.I've now owned it for going on 3 half years and intend to keep it at least another two. When looking to upgrade my car i have even told my husband i will probably purchase another Fiat 500 just a higher spec. Mine is the Pop model and to be fair for a basic spec its got the little extras that in some other makes of cars you would have to pay extra for, like the blue and me for your phone and city parking. Brillant for getting in little car park spaces and i sometimes take it to do the weekly shop which people are surprised how much boot space there is for such a small car. My only negative is the back passenger seats have a very confined space. You can fit 2 people in the back but i don't think they would be very comfortable on long journeys, this is our 2nd household car so this is'nt a problem for me. All in all definately worth a look

Driving this car always puts a smile on my face. Cornering is excellent. Sits on the motorway happily for a couple of hours with comfort for all passengers. Love this car.

In the past I have owned both a Skoda Fabia and a Vauxhall Corsa (most recent car) but recently purchased a new Foat 500. I absolutely love it. It is safe, economical, easy to manoeuvre and park and quirky!! The best car I have owned in 40 years of driving.

I bought this car because of the unrelenting cost of fuel and excise duty. It costs £20 for tax per year and does between 60 and 70 mpg. It is very comfortable for a small car and I have no worries driving long distances in it. It is also funky because I was able to personalise it with a sunshine roof, decals, fog lamps etc. It is perfect for me and my dog, however if my husband comes too because the dog takes up the whole of the back seat, it is extremely difficult to carry much shopping, luggage etc. This would be the only reason for me changing the car in the future because we are unable to take advantage of its economy if we are going anywhere where we need to take stuff with us. Everyone makes comments about my car so I am very pleased with it, but it is what it is - a small, economic and funky vehicle

I've had my Fiat 500 from new - some 5 years - it is still fun to drive, still attracts comments on it's lovely design and styling. It's reliable and remarkably spacious inside - small boot but adequate for my weeks shopping and when I have larger items the back seats fold down easily giving ample space. I frequently travel from North Wales to Exeter to visit my son which is all motorway travel and my little car copes very well and the journey is always comfortable. I would recommend the Fiat 500 every time!!
