I have this car for over three years, the normal use of 20+k per year. Besides small annoyance with rear parking sensors couple of time under warranty and regular service… Now with over 145k km first issue pop up as synchro linkage in gearbox in my case 4th gear cost for repair is 1000€ with changing all linkage that needed to be upgraded to newer due common issue with them for 3,4,5 and 6 gear. Still worth to service and continue to use it due huge prices of newer SUVs

I have purchased a 2015 (15 reg) Hyundai ix35 crdi 1.7 diesel. I get 48mpg running around town or 52.5 on longer trips. Quite noisy when accelerating but once up to your desired speed, it is less noisy. Comfortable. Accelerates quick. Cheap to tax compared to my previous car (2008 Toyota rav4 xtr). Built in stereo isn't great. Overall quite happy with it. I was initially lo1oking for a Honda CRV but this was so much cheaper I couldn't say no compared to the cost of a similar aged crv. £5k less

I have had my IX35 for several years now and driven all over NZ in it. The drive is great through the mountain roads, even when towing a boat. Passing slower vehicles is also a breeze even on winding or mountain roads due to the great acceleration from the 135kw/300 odd nm of torque produced by the 2l turboed engine. The only downside I have found is that with low profile tyres it is a bit hard riding, though cornering at speed cannot be faulted. Two things I would say to others with IX35's, make sure you use the cruise control as much as possible and you may get returns of 6.6l per 100km like I do. The second thing is make sure you have the shocks tested after 75k as they are probably worn out and needing replacing, as mine did. Shocks and tyre pressures are essential to the good handling of the IX35 as it is not as forgiving as other 4wd/AWD vehicles I have owned in that respect. I have had a few of my friends ask when I am getting a new car and I tell them, as soon as someone makes a new car as good as the IX35.

I have now driven 86,000 miles, including towing a caravan, commuting and pleasure. It was bought with extras included such as rear camera, rear sensors, sat nav, Bluetooth phone, voice activated sound system, tilt/slide sunroof, air con and cruise control. I am now looking to replace the car but to get all those extras, I am looking at top of the range in most cars. Towing is easy, the reversing camera makes it easy to hitch and the 4 wheel drive when required has ensured I still can pull away uphill in long wet grass. I have tried the hill accent function when going down hill on Honister Pass in the Lake District, this was great once I learned to trust it. The voice command for the sound system and Bluetooth phone is just a gimmick, I tried it when new but never since. I had my phone connected by Bluetooth but found the memory of phone numbers held crashed the system. This did re-boot when turned off and on again. I would consider another IX35, but not all the extras are available now, I am now looking at the Ford Kuga, fully loaded is still cheaper than Hyundai Santa Fe

Although the car is very good to drive and the quality is perfect, the upkeep is expensive, such as insurance ,servicing etc.

Good car but fuel figures poor, less than 40mpg. Unbelievably for a £20K+ car, satnav does not accept postcode input.

Excellent value for money carrying many features that would cost a great deal more in some higher end equivalent vehicles. Easy to drive and comfortable for both driver and passengers. My only complaint is the stated MPG figure which is quite a bit above the actual return of 36 to 40 MPG on average in my experience, over a tankful of fuel, driving urban, mixed and motorway. Good load carrying capacity but would have liked it more if the rear seats could be placed level in cargo mode. (There is a slight incline when tipped fully forward at present). Overall, a good car that I have happily recommended to several friends/ family.

The IX35 is an excellent car. It is good looking and very comfortable, if a little unexciting compared with previous vehicles. The local garage is very good with service and dealing with the minor problems that I have experienced since purchase. I will probably buy another one when i come to change.

My previous car was a Rover 600 which I had from new and was 14yrs old. So, I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the IX35 having considered the 600 as very comfortable. I have driven from Glasgow to the Peloponnese [ Greece ] this year and last year and have NOT suffered a sore back or fatigue, which I fully expected. [ a total of 4000mls on each journey ] The car performed very well on both trips and even with a full load had more than enough power for any situation that arose. My only complaint is the lack of colours and the cumpulsory black interior. However, over all, I'm more than satisfied.

This car is very good value. My previous vehicle was a Navara pickup, which was used privately and all round i.e Towing, Comfort, Fuel economy etc it knocks spots off that vehicle. I understand that for my usage it was a vehicle that was designed as a work horse but apart from the ability to carry a large ton weight in the pickup bit, this vehicle does everything and more. I would recommend it to anyone. The only down side is the tyre size which cost a fortune compared to other 4x4's.

A responsive car to drive but poor fuel consumption. Quite comfortable but the passenger seat doesn't move up/down and the headrests force your head forward when the back of the seat is fully upright. Sun roof and 4x4 are plusses, and the automatic gear is good, as is the pushbutton start and ease of locking/unlocking on the front doors.

Good length guarantee and luxury features. Ride a little hard with tyre size. Disappointed with mpg 35-40 . Very good for towing caravan.

Having driven from Scotland [ Glasgow ] to Greece and back for holidays in the last 2yrs., I've few complaints about the vehicle although it could be slightly longer to soften the ride. In those 2 journeys I clocked up 7,500 miles.
