I purchased a used C class AMG line diesel a year ago. I have found it to be both reliable and economical, meeting all my expectations of the brand. It has achieved 56 mpg overall so far and is a joy to drive. Vehicle Excise Duty is only £30 and fully comprehensive insurance in the region of £200 pa. My only criticisms would be the ride is a little hard largely due to the 18 inch run flat tyres combined with the multitude of pot holes in today's roads, and the cockpit type design means larger framed people are a tight fit in the seats. I guess the E class would be better suited to them. On the whole a very refined car that is ideal for long journeys that won't break the bank. Purchase price direct from Daimler Benz, at 18 months old, was £26K with two years free servicing. No repairs or faults to date.

My Mercedes is now getting quite old and had done 92000 miles. It still drives like new and has been extremely reliable. I bought it from new. I considered buying another new Mercedes, but there seems no point ( my Mercedes mechanic agrees ) as until something major goes wrong it still performs like the day I first bought it. I have had a whole load of Volvos previously, but the build quality of my Mercedes is far superior.

having had a BMW 3 series M Sport, I find the Mercedes is a better drivers car. It is better looking too, as the 3 series design is way past its sell by date. The Merc. looks classy, as opposed to 'bland'.

Purchased this C220 Bluetec SE Sport in January 2015. This car is a vast improvement on my 2013 model in just about every department. Fuel consumption in excess of 70mpg on long motorway runs and £20 road tax. It does not come much cheaper than that. A very comfortable ride with more than sufficient performance. The car is very secure on wet roads and visibility is great. The gadgetry is also very useful with reverse camera, park assist, collision warning, cruise control and sat nav. Well done Mercedes Benz.

From day 1, I was very pleased with the advice and the helpful manner with which I was treated. The advice and the frankness of Mr Stephen Mallen was exemplory. I collected the car from Livingston...it had been well prepared and looking first class. Thank you very much for a service which from all aspects was A1.

Got it at 3 years old with 23000 on the clock now has 150000 and been serviced at independent Merc specialist. Parts expensive especially as had to have broken coil springs and suspension bushes replaced on a regular basis. Ventilation/heater motor gear broken - parts cost about a tenner but £800 labour to take remove the dashboard to put it in! So have put up with cold feet for years. Heavy on petrol ( 30mpg overall), but refined drive. Sweet, smooth gearbox. Bulletproof engine - no leaks and still quiet. The facelift model ( after 2004) is the one to go for, especially the diesel. Apparently, Mercedes had sorted these niggles out by then. Find a good Merc specialist in your area and costs can be contained. Will buy another

I have only owned this car for 5 days however I am very pleased with the top class standard of the vehicle. In particular the Prestwich branch of Mercedes Benz dealership pulled out all the stops to obtain the vehicle from Tamworth and deliver it to me in pristine condition ready for our holiday in North Wales.

Great car - lots of go even for an estate. Only niggle is an annoying rattle in the dash in low gear. It has been into the dealer and I have mentioned at every service. They seem to fix it for 24 hours then it is back...grr. So aside from that and must a one off issue - no complaints - great car.

The car looks good and with the automatic transmission it is a safe, comfortable ride. I have not been loyal to Mercedes service, but my local garage delivers the goods.

A lovely, solid, comfortable and reliable car which is comfortable and easy to drive and gives a feeling of safely. There are a few negative points though : with the car having just 2 doors, the seat belts are set far back and are difficult to reach when the doors are closed. Also, the metal tongue on the seat belt can slide down the strap when not in use and sit at such an angle that it crushes the speaker cover on the door - which means costly replacements. The worst thing, though, is the car's dreadful handing in snow and ice.
