A superb workhorse for the non-brand snobs. BMW running gear with Rover styling. I got mine up to 246k miles with regular maintenance, and the engine and gearbox were still running as well as the day I bought it. Other things were failing, so it was time to let it go. If spare parts had been a bit more plentiful, and easy to get, it wouldn't have been let go, despite the issues. I would have happier spending the price of its replacement on sorting out its faults.

This car which i bought brand new from MG Rover in may 2002. Has been the best car of all time, i collected my tourer in June 2002, straight from the production line and the car went straight into service. The 2.0 Litre CDT engine has been superb , and still to this day has all the original engine parts on it such as the turbo, fuel injection system and radiator etc, the only thing i've changed was the alternator , that packed up at 279.000 miles, the cars now on 340.000 miles and still uses no oil service to service intervals ( never bought a can of oil). Its now on its third clutch, so i get about 100.000 miles per clutch. and its starts first time every time, never broke down on any journey never!! its seen the kids grow up and whilst i have the Jaguar XJ50 & Jaguar XR sport. This is my go to car......the best pound for pound car i've ever bought, period well done MG Rover of Longbridge Birmingham some of the best cars were built between 2000 to 2005. marvelous and glorious ROVER 75 One of the best Rover cars ever built !!! , still going December 2021 ans still on the road!!!

I've had my Rover for little more than 5 years now. It's a 2,5 V6 and I believe it is, or at least it's very close to being fully optioned, sunroof, Harman/Kardon (which still sounds amazing), full leather, electric memory front seats, navigation system, heated seats, cruise control, electric rear window shade, all that, and it all works. Bought it from the first owner (Swiss doctor) @ 150k, drove 30k in 5 years. It's a third car in our family, I drive a company car in the city and my fiancée has a hatchback she drives around, so we only use this for longer trips, or when we just feel like traveling in luxury. And boy is it luxurious. The leather has that very distinctive Jaguar scent, the scent alone makes you feel like you're in a good place. The KV6 engine has a very nice sound to it, there are many smaller V6 petrol engines that don't really have a characteristic sound in such cars (take Opel's V6 engines in the Omega B/C, etc.). This one sounds genuinely sporty even with the stock exhaust - of course it's not overly loud, it's a gentleman's car after all, but when you rev it out the harshness surprises most people. Reliability is of course, being an old premium vehicle, not the best, it's not the kind of car that will just keep going without proper maintenance, but that's not something you should expect anyway. I've had BMWs (E36 325i, E39 528i) and one Mercedes (W210 E280) in the past in similarly great condition, I can tell you the Rover is not any worse than those, absolutely on the same level. Only problem is since Rover is long dead as a manufacturer, and 75s are not so common anymore, some parts can be a bit more tough to find, but it's not horrible, just something to keep in mind. Another concern is finding a good mechanic for these cars, fortunately I already had the contact before I got this car and most simple things I do myself, but this is definitely not the kind of car you can just bring into any repair shop. Most of them will reject you, or make a crappy job on it. You need a specialist. Overall, this car without doubt feels more luxurious not only than an E46 BMW, but also than my old E39. It has this British elegance that older Jaguars did so well, but in a smaller size. The body rigidity of this car is so great that even switching from my '18 company car, it feels just like that modern car in that regard. My car has the auto, that's the only thing that sometimes gets a bit on my nerves, it's slow and doesn't really want to kickdown, only if you absolutely mash the gas pedal. Until then, it doesn't really accelerate, just gently wafts along. This transmission is also not the smoothest I've seen, especially in sport mode it does let you know about the shifts, but of course the character of this car still fits an auto more than a manual. And it is said to be reliable, I hope that's true on the long run. I plan to keep this car for a few years more, probably until it becomes very problematic.

Bought my Rover 75 Connoisseur last year. What a disaster. However 2 days before she was due to be collected I had a change of heart. Loads of work done costing almost 1.5k. However drives like a new car. Extremely comfortable we travel long distance regularly. Tax is expensive however I feel it’s worth it. Mine has only gone up in value. 138,042 miles and not a murmur knock or bump. Intend on keeping her alive and running.

I have only had the car for a couple of months but I have nothing but praise so far. 86K on the clock with service history. It has a few scrapes and imperfections that I was not going to bother with, but now I am intending to get them sorted as I love this car now. I use it as a weekly commute covering 200 miles, and so far it has been an absolute pleasure to drive. Plenty of comfort, and enough power to sit at 75/80 comfortably in luxury with little cabin noise. For what you can pick these up for it is an absolute steal. These are a well kept secret, the BMW Diesel lump will keep going and going. The owners club is worth joining as there is a wealth of knowledge out there and the forum has been invaluable to me so far. Do your research and go get yourself an amazing car for an amazing price.

Owned this car 13 years and driven 200,000 miles. Bought 3 years old at 23,000 miles. Never let me down. Some pricey repairs recently which I was unable to do myself (rear suspension arms) along with some electrical faults now evident. (Rad fan seized and drivers door lock failed)Would continue to repair but my age and fitness no longer allow. Still looks and drives like new. Sadly looking to scrap in July as residual value virtually nil now. Just a shame Rover failed would buy another before anything else.

Bought this car 2 years ago, FSH and 62k. It has never let me down, nice comfortable drive and nice power when sports mode engaged. I have since fitted a K & N air filter and a MG ZT exhaust system among other things. As i have only done 72k (10k in two years) and maintained the car as one should, this car is now valued at more than i paid for it. Love this car.

I bought my 75 1.8T in June 2015 with 24000 on the clock. it was my first post 1975 car I bought and what a brilliant car it turned out to be. I found it was easy to work on and modify to my taste and a strong club backing to support with sourcing parts and tips for conversions. people need to remember that these are becoming old cars now so if you buy one make sure you have some spare dosh to spend on repairs! there are still many (ex) Mg Rover service centres who have the correct knowledge and tools and parts to keep your pride and joy on the road. these cars can be full of problems so again make sure you are happy to spend money on them many of the problems have now been sorted via the clubs and they are not prone to problems any more than any other car. marvellous cars

Got notification that this car had just came onto market. No picture was available but the information provided showed the vehicle to be just what I was after. Contacted the garage , Signature Car Sales Airdrie and made enquirey about the car and was told it has gone straight into the garage for the mechanics to do their stuff. Pictures would be on and nothing would be done without contacting me as I had made first enquirey . Went online next morning still no photoes and advert stated car was gone. Contacted garage again and was told still in workshops will call me when they find out what's happening. Still no call to this day , sounds to me as though something has been done slightly underhand . Very disappointed as most of these vehicles are down south. Still on the hunt but won't be getting involved with Signature Car Sales.

Comfortable, quiet, reliable, easy to drive, with a surprising turn of speed when needed. Poor headlights

Had this car for over 10 years. Pulled caravan all over UK and parts of Europe. Never once broke down. every thing still works even after 13 years plus of daily motoring. Good economy and can shift when needed. Comfortable on long journeys. Little cramped in rear passenger seats. Difficulty for me now is when the time comes to replace the old dear, what do I go for ? I have been spoilt owning this car.

The Rover 75 was the best car to bear the name in terms of its practicality and in terms of modern Rovers its quality and finish. The diesel is very economical, it is comfortable and has the advantage of not having a DPF. I keep my 75 as I cannot think of any new or recent car which would suit my needs as well, or which would offer the same level of refinement and style to my taste. The car has a good level of trim and of equipment and does not have the same degree of electronic complication to be found on modern car, no touch screen thank goodness! Servicing costs are reasonable and the car makes a good all round choice, we took ours to Cornwall this year and make regular motorway trips in it from Sussex to Bucks. And, best of all it is British designed and made, even if the engine is Austrian.

I have had it for eleven years and have always liked it. It is a shame they are not made anymore.

I agree. But there we are, BMW wanted to destroy Rover - stamp out all competition! I will keep it going for as long as I am able.

She is 'getting on' a bit now but I will be loathe to part with her, when the time comes. Bought as a used car, with exceptionally low mileage, she is the most comfortable car I've had, and very reliable and the bodywork is still in prime condition after all these years. The road tax is expensive, but worth it.

Rover 75 is an executive car great to drive, powerful and cheap to run (Diesel). Best of British engineering.
