We chose this car for 4 wheel drive because we livein a rural area and it does the job and we also needed space to get to medium size dogs in.

This is my second consecutive Subaru Outback and have had both converetd to run on LPG alongside Petrol. These cars have proved to be extremely reliable in 11 years of use, with only regular maintenance and consumables incurred. It is only the high cost of a repalcement that has prevented me from replacing my current vehicle with another of the same model. It fifils everything I need in a car, especially it's permanent AWD fscilty in a rural area frequently experiencing annual snow fall.

A confident, well made, reliable estate car. It easily accomodates our daughters wheelchair in the boot. Only downside is less than impressive fuel economy, but if we wanted economy we wouldn't buy a 2.4litre automatic estate car!

A good reliable car but now at 120,000 mile starting to have a few minor problems: Engine management system records a problem - suspect fault with cat convertor or the sensors rear windscreen washer failure Drivers heated front seat fails to work Otherwise a reliable if expensive car to run - max road tax and relatively low MPG

Practical looks, comfortable and very reliable. Performs very well but particularly excellent in bad conditions (snow etc). The customer service at the Subaru dealership has been friendly and faultless. Only downsides would be it gets around 30 mpg at normal running and tends to use oil faster than my previous cars.

The only problem with this car is the complex electronics which render the vehicle difficult to deal with. Anti car jacking systems can lock driver out of car and all doors do not unlock automatically and require extra switching. Too complex.A classic case of more proving to be less.

Both my partner and I are very satisfied with our car we can get in the region of 38mpg which for a 2.5 litre auto we think is acceptable. The area when rear seats folded down is in the region of 6 feet long and accept for wheel arches 3 feet wide.
