Suzuki Jimny reviews

Very reliable practical vehicle for my needs. Ideal for rough country roads, transporting garden material, dogs etc. Downside of lack of comfort on long journeys, motorways. Only suitable for 2 adults (back seats very cramped). Engine quite noisy. Still, ideal for me and would make same choice again.

Had one a few years ago. Nice car, so have bought the same again.

Practical and ideal for use in the country lanes etc. However high emissions and poor mpg make it relatively expensive for small engined vehicle. No reliability problems.

It has been very reliable. The only problems have been the pan hard rod eye breaking - which was terrifying! On tarmac I might add. The problem was a poor weld in manufacture. Then there's the wheel wobble at 47 mph. Apparently the latter is very common with Jimnys and I have tried everything to eliminate it with limited success. It is a very practical 4x4 which copes very well with the conditions around our rural area and it's small enough to park easily in town. Given the problems mentioned above, my next car will probably not be a Jimny unless I am very very convinced that Suzuki have done something about them.

Superb small part-time 4x4. Great for towing boat and dealing with difficult slipways. Super around town - high driving position, small, easily parked. Hard suspension makes for roughish ride.

It may be built like a brick, and have poor economy, but it is (around these roads) highly desirable. It is easy to drive, easy to park, reliable and fun, and easy to get in and out of, and holds it retail value. What more could you want :)
