Owner reviews for the Smart ForFour

Overall rating 4/5Although certainly more practical, the ForFour is still led very much by style, and so its two tone panels and go-kart like shape give it real personality so that, even though it is a mature Smart car, it still keeps its playful edge.

The first attempt by Smart to move into the proper supermini market and out of the novelty city car sector, the ForFour arguably loses much of the quirkiness that makes the ForTwo such an interesting car. What this does mean however, is that it is a far more practical vehicle (some might even call it 'normal'). As the name suggests, there is space for four people inside, a choice of either a 1.1 litre petrol engine or 1.5 turbodiesel, and a drive which is more responsive, refined and enjoyable than its more idiosyncratic sibling.
