While the first MINI aimed to simply address the need for an affordable, small and functional car, today's MINI boasts a far wider appeal as a stylish and serious vehicle. Cabriolet and coupé models satisfy the more sporty (and perhaps more image conscious) drivers, while the entry-level Hatchback is a better all-round performer. Increasing the size, both the Clubman and the Countryman present a more practical option, but both share idiosyncratic designs likely to divide opinions. What the full range shares however, is that they are as good to drive as they are be seen driving. While this might differ from the original car's ethos, there's no denying that it is one of the best looking and most fun small cars on the roads.
