It was arguably not until the launch of the Civic that Honda truly came into form as a car manufacturer. Still their leading hatchback, it is a car of considerable quality, being both practical and efficient, and offering nimble handling and good performance. Equally impressive is the smaller Jazz, a supermini which despite its compact exterior, boasts one of the most spacious interiors in its class. The Honda CR-V, a crossover SUV, like the Jazz, is exemplary in its clever maximising of interior space while keeping exterior bulk down. Like their fellow Japanese manufacturers, Honda is known for their reliability. They might not always offer exuberant levels of excitement, but they are long serving and practical, and have the looks to make them stand out where many of their sedate rivals simply coast.
