A lovely car which waited until a few months after the guarantee ran out (55,000 miles) for the oil pump to fail and the engine to seize up making a replacement engine necessary. The AA said this was a common fault on Audi diesels although Audi flatly denied it.

I'd buy another one.

This is the third Audi A6 I have had and is the most economical large car I have ever driven. Comfort levels are excellent, the boot is large enough for two full sets of golf clubs and trolleys without having to put the rear seats down. Technology pack add on was well worth the extra money giving bigger screen SatNav, full phone integration, excellent dashboard information system and Audi music integration.

Great car-my 3rd Audi. Has never let me down and is smooth to drive and very economical. Long journeys are a dream and it is also very good in the snow and ice-we live in the Country. I will be buying another shortly although I prefer petrol and all of the A6 range now seems to be diesel for some reason.

Had this car for 3 years and done over25000 miles each year, mostly up and down A1 150-200 mile trips and it just eats up the road. Fuel economy of around 40+ on long runs but different story around town. Excellent comfort and reliability.

The Audi is a very well engineered car, and it drives very well. BUT it's driver controls are deeply badly designed. As such it drives well, but it is very annoying to the driver. For example on starting the car it turns on the radio (even if off when last driven) but turns off the automatic handbrake- almost every driver would want it the other way. The electronic handbrake is really awful when manoeuvring in a carpark. Why do Audi spoil a good car with truly awful controls.

Beautiful car, a little expensive to run but no more so than to be expected of such a powerful, performance car.

My third and will buy again

Performance, comfort, everything you would want in a car but the cost of servicing by agents excessive. Running costs are reasonable for a 2.8 diesel engine, 38 to 40 m.p.g.

After driving all summer in vans and trucks I wanted something comfortable and with out a clutch. We also are a family and often zip off so space was something to consider. The Audi does this with ease. Plenty of space, very comfortable, quick when needed and with cruise control is a dream on the motorways. However our confidence did suffer with the gear box developing a judder (we bought it second hand with near 100,000 on the clock). The judder is a common problem with this particular model of gear box, now re-designed, and once replaced the car runs fine. It is low slung and if you drive in the country you will hear some scrapping sounds but it is mostly mud guard.

Good all round car. Not as much boot space as some competition.

I have driven many cars and this is by far the best.

A super car,lively,roomy,comfortable but expensive to maintain and repair.

Excellent car does exactly what I want it to do

Excellent Car. Bodywork not as 'strong' as earlier models though. (Noticeable due to contrast to my 2003 A4) Does everything I need to do in comfort and surprisingly 'Nimble' handling.

A very comfortable car , Good mileage for the size. Lots on space. only downside, it is slightly underpowered.

A great car well built and economical for size. Done nearly 200000 miles we little trouble will likely replace with same .
