BMW M3 reviews

So - A BMW M3 is a famous car. A really famous car. But the latest one is disappointing. Firstly, the engine is awful - Come on they have got a 3.0L V6 and they can't make it sound anywhere near as good as in an E43 AMG. Its a rocket but again it doesn't have four wheel drive which lets it down in English conditions especially. The car is not cheap to run and servicing on an M car is pricey. The car is fairly smooth but only 3/5 because it doesn't have a particularly flexible suspension and it really should be a mainly track car. Its a reliable car with good space but if you are looking to buy this kind of a car - you're best buying a Mercedes-AMG C63 or an E43 if you want the more practical V6 Turbo-Charged engine.

Ideal car for petrol heads that need family space and performance. In the years that i have owned it (from new) i have not had any serious problems but saying that it only has 25300 miles on the clock. If you are looking for a car with frugal fuel economy do'nt run one of these but you ca'nt have it all ways.I would certainly recommend it as a used purchase for those who require performance and do not mind the running costs of such a motor, ie road tax, insurance, maintenance and fuel.

Overall a great car , especially at its current value. Good performance and handling and still reasonably comfortable on longer journeys even with sporty chassis and seats. Plenty of room in driving position although I wouldn't fancy being in the back. Boot is pretty poor even with rear seats down as the Amplifier is bang in the middle and restricts height. Main downside with these as they age as with all cars of their ilk is running costs currently £65 for a 60L tank of petrol that will give you 280 ish miles of motorway travelling and a lot less in the urban cycle. Plus more thing likely to go wrong: gear box overhaul £4,000, new tyres start from £400 a pair etc. Well worth getting triptronic version. Usual high quality BMW build quality.

I bought my M3 4 years ago after spending some time trying to decide what to replace my previous sports car with. I have previously owned a BMW 3 litre 5 series estate which was one of the best cars i ever owned. I found the M3 to be outstanding in its performance, road holding and general driving experience. It is a very good looking car , very well made with excellent luxury finish, and outstanding value for money. For a high performance car running costs are pretty good, except for some BMW spare parts which are ridiculously expensive.

I have had this car from new, good fuel consumption on a long run for its age and engine size and power, comfortable, very good performance nice car to drive
