This is the first time we are using a car which is not a Japanese make. But Getz is a great car and performs better than other makes. Very stylish, spacious, decent interior and great to drive. Very happy with our Getz. (City of Colombo , Sri Lanka)

I bought my Hyundai Getz second hand for around £2000. It was a great first car, really easy to practice in before my test (forgiving of my many mistakes), and has still remained a reliable car throughout my first 3 years of driving. It is easy to handle, has managed to take me multiple times with all of my uni stuff (moving into a different house every year), and cheap to fill up with petrol (around £45). The car is really fuel efficient- I can get to uni (Reading to Manchester) on half a tank! I would definitely recommend the Getz if you are looking for a cost effective, little and reliable car. As I'm looking to get a new car, I am sad to see my Getz go - grateful to this little guy getting me through my test, many festivals, and university!

Inherited this car v cheap - let's just leave it at that - as I've never owned a diesel before I was not expecting much but as small motors go I rate it - some parts can be expensive but then again I did import a fly wheel from Japan for the lex at £500 so it's not to bad lol

Sluggish climbing hills but a quiet cruiser at motorway speed. A bit cramped in the front for a 6 foot driver but otherwise comfortable. Reliability has been great and repairs have been minimal.

As a local runabout, which is what I want, it is ideal. Also fine on occasional longer journeys. As I rarely have passengers and I am only 5'6"tall the size is no problem Small size makes for easy parking and automatic transmission increases my patience in heavy traffic All together a pleasure and comfortable to drive and nippy enough to get me out of trouble when acceleration is the safer option Good brakes. Have never had to utilise the airbags, thank goodness.

Better ride than a fiesta and more miles per gallon, plus a higher ride and less noise Add in air con as standard and a grand less on the forecourt used than the ford and Its a no brainer . Sorry fiesta, but I've had both and I know which one I prefer

Big car feel in a small car . an honest car , smooth, silent, better than a fiesta mk6. Only issue is a difficult reverse gear . but this is common on fords too,

I have had my Getz now for 2 and half years and it has really been a great car for me. I paid £1200 for a second hand model with 54000 miles on the clock. I was after a reliable, economical, safe car however on a tight budget and I think this car was the perfect choice. It has ticked all the boxes I needed in a car. It has only had a few minor issues which have been easily repaired and cost me no more than £60 on average. It does have some irritating problems: changing from second to third gear requires 3000 revs for a smooth transition, the pedals are very sensitive so it takes a while to really get used to driving, the rear window is very small making reversing slightly more challenging. But this only takes a couple of weeks to get used too and then its no trouble really. I use my car to travel all over south Cornwall (from Lands End - St. Austell) and it copes just fine with me alone or another passenger. However on the few occasions that I have had a full car it is noticeably more difficult to tackle hills and any crawling traffic, so I would not recommend the car for a family. The car is great for older people, my Grandma is often a passenger and the large doors and high seats make it easy to get in and out safely. Plus, the interior is very roomy for such a small car. I spend on average £50 on petrol over 4/5 weeks, covering around 70miles a week on average, so it is cheap to run compared to most cars. I am a student nurse so reliability and low cost (to buy and run) were my priorities when looking for a car, and I can definitely say this car ticks the boxes.

Reliable. Fairly fuel efficient. Noisy at speed.

I have had this car for just over 6 years and have had hardly any trouble except for a jammed boot lock. It has passed the MOT every year with only my own maintenance and is good on fuel use.

The Getz is a nippy reliable handy car for carting kids and friends to their many events and for getting to work and back. Has little street cred but that's not an issue...

Best car i have ever had, in 10 years i only had one fault and that was in the power steering pipe when i developed a leak, i think that was not bad considering its age and i would be happy to get from the same manufacturer again

I can thoroughly recommend the Hyundai Getz as the ideal car for most situations travelling in the UK. It is especially ideal for a pensioner like myself and is very comfortable for any distance that my wife and I travel whether locally or for longer distances. The running cost is pretty economic and the space is comfortable for both of us and is indeed good if we have a couple of passengers. The tax is only £30 p.a. and the Hyundai Service via an official Hyundai Dealer is excellent. The Getz is in fact the fourth Hyundai I have had in the last twenty years and have been satisfied with each one.

This is one of the easiest cars I have ever driven. It responds quickly and the all round vision is excellent. Because it is the sports model it is quite expensive to run and to insure, but is a pleasure to drive.

Ordinary small hatchbacks like the Hyundai Getz are one of the best cars you can own. They do nothing brilliantly, yet are capable of so much. Five adults? Bit of a squeeze but yes. Shift a washing machine? Might have to slide the front seat forward a touch but in it goes. 200 miles in a snowstorm past rear drive performance cars spinning their wide tyres? Forgive me for that smug look. The Getz hasn't much personality but it was cheap to buy, is a good balance of performance and economy and has a comfortable driving position with good clear instrumentation. The interior has a few clever features without being fancy. Maintenance costs have been minimal, related to normal wear and tear and I do about 18000 miles a year. I've actually been surprised at how much I like it and am looking to Hyundai again for it's replacement.

Used as a Driving School car. Learners love it and a few ex pupils bought one for themselves when they passed. Only downside is indicators on the `wrong side` as compared to European makes. On newer models i.e. the i10, i20 etc Hyundai have changed this.

With using Redex every other time I fill up it runs a treat, body work is not to bad at all to say its 10 years next year! I would buy another Hyundai AGAIN .
