The car just performs extremely competently. It is not particularly glamorous, but it works. The interior finish and quality is not as good as more expensive makes, but the road holding, comfort and the way it effortlessly copes with almost anything the road can throw at it - mud, ice, snow, potholes, tight parking spaces, hours and hours on a motorway, zero to 9000 feet mountain passes - is superb. The fancy electrics of the plug in hybrid are not going to save the planet, but, whilst there is only 5% vat on electricity ( not 20% plus fuel tax) plus the possibility to use half price off peak, it is financially attractive. No-one seems to mention that a whole section of society can't so easily use these cars as it is difficult to charge them at home if you live in a flat or road of terraced houses.

A remarkable feat of design and technology which makes an altogether brilliant car. Well done Mitsubishi!

I have been running this car for ten months and have covered just over 11k miles. The car is very comfortable and quiet on motorways, and has the performance to keep up with traffic flow in the fast lane. Although slightly smaller than my previous Shogun, it still offers good boot space and with the easily foldable rear seats down it can swallow a couple of kayaks and a mountain bike with room for camping kit as well. Once you understand how to get the best out of the hybrid engine it's performance figures are acceptable. But they are no where near those advertised and this was the main disappointment for me. If I had known what I could manage in terms of mpg I would have gone for the standard petrol model. The bonus is that I drive into London and it is currently exempt from the congestion charge.

This car has and still is the best one I have owned, the stats speak for themselves 4 * +. Reliable, ease of driving and comfort for me and passengers all in one package. There has been only one problem, the engine does not like cheap fuel and the filter needs replaced if the diesel is not at required grade

I have owned this car from new.It has never let me down. I bought a three year service pack when I purchased the car for £340.The car is very spacious it converts to a 7 seater although the seats are mainly suitable for children. I have test driven the latest model Outlander and I prefer mine.On the new model they have replaced the LED rear lights for bulbs, removed the split tail gate, removed storage box in the top of the dash board and removed the cool box in the dash. I wouldn't buy anew one because I think the one I own is a better spec than the new models.

I am really happy with my Outlander. Little niggles like quite loud rolling road noise and indicator sometimes not cancelling are outweighed by its overall practicality.
