I inherited this car which has been in the family since new and no problems at all in 8 years. It has the little 3 cylinder engine which is fantastically economical - best I've ever owned, arguably much better than the 1200 for that reason, but it does need to be revved if any power needed over and above normal nippy driving. On long hills can run out of oomph but then I think about how economical it is. We quite often drive Cornwall (St Ives) to London or Brighton and its so cheap - around £30 one way. I drove Bristol to Cornwall the other day with four adults and it was fine: cruises at 70 which is all I want to do. Running up to 80 is fine too but probably not with 4. Three of our kids have learnt to drive in this car with another coming through. The high seat and ease of access is brilliant: really suits tall (I'm 6ft) occupants and if back issues etc its great. Seats fold and its been well abused on skip runs. What would i change? Nothing at all. OK, maybe decent cup holders, an aux input and maybe a phone / bluetooth connection: all first world problems when economy and frugality are the order of the day. Highly rated.

We were after a spacious economical 5 seater and we think we've achieved it with this little but spacious car. It's deceiving as from the outside as it looks small but inside there's plenty of leg space and plenty of boot space too. for a 1.2 it's responsive and has plenty of oomph especially on the long runs. We were very happy with the viewing, test driving and purchasing process too.

Spotted this Agila on line via AA website, the car was exactly as advertised, very low mileage and very good price. Test drive proved as expected and purchased. Really good package.

Vauxhall Agila 1.2 16V VVT SE A/C Ecoflex in red. Why we bought this car: We unexpectedly needed a replacement car and wanted a nearly new city car that was reliable and cheap. I found a car that meets our needs and expectations but also one that we enjoy owning. At under five thousand pounds for a three year old car with low mileage, not many had modern engines with good fuel economy and low tax but this one did. This car had thirteen thousand miles, has 94 bhp, our mpg is 46 with mainly town driving and tax is £30. Other comparable small cars were a couple of thousand pounds more yet this has air-con and alloy wheels. It also has the advantage of having a higher seating position and a high roof meaning two people can sit in the rear in comfort, unlike many small cars. When researching about this model I found that according to Warranty Direct it was Europe's most reliable car. What's also good: The engine. Cheerful red colour. Fold-flat rear seats that make the car into a little van. Manouverability and nippy nature in town. Space-saver spare wheel in wheel well. What's bad: A squeak from the suspension in cold weather. The stubby gearchange is positive but can sometimes baulk going into reverse. Moving the car a few centimeters solves the problem. Compared to my previous large family car it is not as comfortable on very long journeys of 50+ miles.

This car suits me with it's high seats. the back door is quite difficult to open.

The mpg averages at about 50+ , using it for short and intermittent longer trips (100+ miles). The seats are higher than in most hatchbacks which makes it easier to get in and out, particularly if transporting older passengers or those with back issues. Can accomodate 5 passengers but wouldn't do this for long journeys as very "cosy". Driving is comfortable. Occasionally need to have several attempts at moving gear into reverse. Luggage space is small but has the facility to put back down for a flat area so can still take rubbish to the tip. Ideal small car but there is another, bigger Vauxhall in the household for bigger, longer trips. Overall happy with choice, particularly the height for driving.

The Vauxhall Agila has everything I wanted in a car - easy to get in and out, upright driving position with good vision, loads of space for carrying stuff, small, relatively cheap to run, wonderful turning circle. Excellent run-about but can act as a work horse when needed.

I have had my agila for 3 years, bought because of the high seating to allow an elderly relative to get in and out easily. We have both enjoyed the upright seats. Did have servicing problems when local garages couln't find reason for engine problems. Would have had another one but the change in design makes them impracticle, boot space no longer adequate and I liked the box shape.

My little Agila, is small, but surprisingly roomy. Gets me from A to B in comfort, as it's a small engine its a little slow to pull of at junctions, and sometimes I could do with the extra bit of get up an go, however saying that she runs beautifully

A bit sluggish, lacks comfort, has been reliable up to now, plenty of space as rear seats fold flat, almost like a mini estate. Very cheap to run.

I was very satisfied with this car, but unfortuately have had to give up driving mostly due to age and dwindling confidence behind the wheel, 2 accidents in 2 years after 50 years without an accident something had to go.

I preferred the old Agila - the sit-up-and-beg type, but this one has more oomph and is just as easy to drive. It starts easily, no matter what the conditions, does a reasonable number of miles to the litre and can carry a remarkable amount luggage/stuff for the dump. It even took a metre-square mirror from the shop to my house with no problem. This model is wider than the old one, and therefore only just squeezes into the garage, with about two inches to spare on either side. It's not, perhaps the most comfortable car available, but I'll probably buy the same again when the time comes to change it.

This is my second Agila. My last Agila the previous model I owned for 8 years. I took delivery of this used one on the 1st August. So far I am pleased with it. The car meets my needs as a city car with some long journeys thrown in as well. Very useful having 4 doors plus the tailgate. The roof line is lower on this model making it easier to clean the roof, but the lower roof line does not compromise the head room within the passenger apartment. The new shape of the tailgate lessens the amount of rain water appearing on the tailgate window surface. Performance is slightly up from the previous Agila engine and still remains relatively quiet in operation. Fuel consumption is quite good around town and even better on long journeys. The transmission is excellent as usual and the gear ratios are good resulting is fewer gear changes. Gear changes are easy and smooth. Considering this is a small car the amount of space available inside is really good but there are fewer small personal storage spaces to fill up compared to the previous model. In my opinion the Agila, also known as the Suzuki Splash are good value for money and if driven with care and serviced on time will by my past experience deliver many years of reliable service.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and the seats in this are a little higher and more comfortable for mobility problems than a normal saloon or hatchback. It is economic on fuel and very reliable during wet or freezing conditions.

I had my first Agila for 7yrs.Always passed its MOT first time.Never had anything wrong, worse than 1 puncture.Traded it in because of its age. Bought a new Agila, that had been a 'demonstration' model.Only a nominal mileage.I discovered that the battery had been swopped.! There were no 'Owners manual/handbook'.( I had to purchase these separately). And in the 6yrs. I have had it,I have had to replace 5,yes 5, different wheel bearings.Viz:- 2 n/s rear: 2 o/s rear: and 1 o/s front. One of the service centres I took it to, suggested that it could be the alignment.? I paid for this doing. But have still suffered 3 wheel failures since. Consequently, some are GOOD,some just AINT.!!

Nippy little motor, can easily sit 4 adults, bit of squeeze for 3 on the back seat, but can be done!drivers seat has different options regarding height, recline etc so anyone of any size can comfortably drive.Brilliant for maneuvering, round the smallest of carparks, also very good on the motorway.Surprisingly good on space when the backseat is down.Petrol mileage is good, better on longer drives.Drives very well in snow and is very reliable in the coldest weather.
