Bought with 100,000 miles on it 5 years ago at 200,000 now. Besides dealer servicing as per schedule , only needed a replacement EGR valve and intercooler pipe, which I replaced myself, so 200 quid. As opposed to my Skoda superb previous which almost broke me on engine and suspension issues . Powerful and comfortable, more economical than my other car 1.5 d4d auris .

A large boot size and well appointed car.

Not a quick car, but not slow either. Auto box isn't bad, and changes gear smoothly and sensibly enough. Comfy and refined ride, with good rebound on the chassis. Excellent seating position, with plenty of adjustment. Not the most economical of engines, but not the worst either, regularly get 40mpg on a run, and for a petrol auto, that isn't bad. Absolutely munches through the miles though! With incredible ease, and brilliant comfort. This thing is quiet and cosseting, if not the most exciting drive you'll have. But has plenty of room for 5 adults, and a boot full of luggage.

Love driving the car when it works absolutely fantastic more than enough power as and when needed beautiful motorway cruiser why still being plenty good enough on windy twisty roads However in 6 weeks of ownership All new springs and brakes however I clearly brought a unloved one despite the stacks of paperwork for service history ect Get the niggles sorted start to enjoy the car again 2 days later with no warning signs what so ever clutch and dual mass give up a bill that costs more than the value of the car Finally get the car out the garage for it to develop problems no one can seem to diagnose After having many Vauxhall's fairly trouble free this has been a disappointment from day one Looks are appealing Comfort is fantastic just aswell when most of the time is spent waiting on recovery As much as I love this car when it works I couldn't recoment one to a friend Fuel economy is pretty poor in comparison to the Vectra I had previously however it's not shockingly bad either h

Insignia high spec facelift model half leather seats, large sat nav screen with touch pad, averages 50mpg. Purchased at 3 years old with 80k, now has 190k, been reasonably good, still has original flywheel and clutch, replaced turbo pipe twice, coolant level sensor, 2 heater plugs (expensive), both suspension topmounts other quirkes like radio fails to boot up correctly sometimes, clutch pedal clicks from time to time, arrow button on steering wheel recently stopped working, higher spec models are much better comfort wise, overall a good value used car

I am a 30+ yr Vx owner & a cab owner, I normally cycle a car every 3 yrs, this one I bought in 2013 s/h but due to personal things it's still with me 8 yrs on, currently on 92k and hasn't had much done to it other than a turbo hose & starter motor, the car is extremely comfortable with the extending front seats & drives with plenty of power and handles good & much better than some I've owned that the press say handle best, mpg wise if I was working the car with stop start every couple of miles she dips to about 27mpg, when used as a personal car that rises to 32/34 mpg urban, on a run of say 200 miles she gives 45/50 mpg, this car is the best Vx I've owned, she beats even the Omega's that I owned & loved, Vx has always had a bad rep but I've not experienced it with the 8 of them I've owned as cabs, they do wear out as all cars do but this depends on your expectation tbh, the Insignia A is also for a design that's now 13 yrs old still a fresh looking one & I think it still looks better than it's replacement & all the other "premium" offerings from other companies, sadly Vx is no more & my experience with PSA cars wasn't good, maybe it will be better now it's a Stelliantis brand but after an Insignia B possibly that will be my last Vx, however as a s/h buy the A model is unbeatable, things you should look out for though are manual M32 gearboxes & 1.6D timing chains, any rattles walk away.

Yes 1800 is poor for mpg if used for urban only, drive, comfort, is better than the old Rover 600/1800 which I though at the time the best drive on the market, insignia has comfort and plenty of space, I have had mine for 12 months and as cost me two front tyres for this year's mot, reliable, yes

I was looking for a nicely sorted well-specced estate that would be nice to drive & built to last, without breaking the bank. My Elite Sports Tourer certainly delivers on all fronts. I've had the car 2 years now & have had no significant issues with it. The Elite has loads of bells & whistle; full leather interior, electric tailgate, adaptive headlights etc etc. Sits squarely on big wheels & has a nice presence to it. Happy enough cruising on back roads, but clearly designed for long distance driving as it's a beast on the motorway with 350Nm of torque on tap, coupled with big gear ratios so very economical & refined at motorway speed. I've been very impressed with the build quality & the doors close with a solid "thunk" that would rival the big German brands. I picked this 2013 model up 2 yrs ago when it was 5 yrs old, with comprehensive history, and paid £6.7K. Bargain. Delighted. I'm told the 2013 models post facelift are the more reliable ones to go for.

What can you say, average mpg around 66mpg with lots of motorway work, can easily do 80mpg if you sit on motorway at 55 to 60 mph, very comfortable, huge amount of leg room in the back, good boot size, can easily fit 4 suit cases, loads of gadgets, self dipping lights, lane assist, parking sensors ect. This car is an absolute pleasure.

In context, this was bought as a pre-depreciated vehicle to get best value from company car allowance. Let's get the negatives out of the way first. Being pre-depreciated, after buying the car there were a few recalls that took it out of action for 3 days. As for layout, it is a big car that could have been better designed. My old MG fits golf clubs and a trolley more efficiently whist the style of the side profile gives little rear headroom for a 6 footer. Road noise, at least with 18 inch wheels can be obtrusive on rougher road surfaces. As for economy, you have to go some to get the reported figures. 52.6 is achievable on long journeys with motorway speed limits, around 47 is the norm which can not be bad for a big car. Back to the reason that the car was bought, it was intended as good value, given Vauxhall's policy of flooding the fleet market. With estimated high mileage covering from Aberdeen to Truro, this thing sits on the motorway comfortably all day. There are no rattles which may be a sign of quality. The interior is functional, controls close at hand and easy to get used to. On normal road surfaces, the feeling is almost of luxury. The 2.0 CDTi (170 bph) is responsive and quieter than might be expected from a diesel. In all, as a second hand buy, this car is totally fit for purpose and will turn a profit on the car allowance. Nothing else on the market came close in terms of value.

This is my second Vauxhall Insignia. It is a very well equipped car with attractive body lines. There is plenty of power under the bonnet for those occasions it is required, but not for "burning rubber". The ride is smooth and the passenger compartment is well equipped. To date my experience with both cars has been very good (touch wood). My only complaint so far is the cost to update SatNav details. One can by a good SatNav with free lifetime updates for less than the factory fitted equipment.

There are no problems other than the rear discs. In four years I've had to have the rear discs and pads replaced twice, and I'm told it's because or the weather. I feel it is a design fault.

Comfortable, cruises well, not great sight lines or acceleration. Good reliability so far but low mileage driving.

Like every car on the market, I can't achieve the mpg as quoted but my car has now done 10k and still feels new and stiff but returns a constant 62mpg on my 100 mile round daily trip to work over the ups and downs of the North Yorks Moors. It's a comfortable cruiser that turns to extremely comfortable and quiet when motorway cruising. I had one of the first Insignia's in 2009 with mixed feelings. Replaced it with a competitors equivalent and regretted the choice within months. This face lifted model is far superior to both previous cars and I'm pleasantly surprised by the smaller 1.6ltr engine Service interval at 20k means half the servicing of my old car. So far there hasnt been a single fault worth a mention and hasn't been back to the (friendly) dealer since delivery for anything more than a complimentary check up. Still has a body line, looks and stance that makes some newer designed cars look boring. Don't knock it till you've tried it

My Insignia Tourer is the Elite model. This means apart fron nice toys like electric hatch and driver's seat, satnav etc it has brilliant adaptive lights that turn when cornering, adding n/s fog lamp, but also speed adjust, giving a wider beam at low speed. No need for beam adaptors for foreign travel, just a simple sequence to change the light pattern - also to select kph on speedo. As a long distance cruiser it is very comfortable an naturally tows my folding camper effortlessly. Fuel consumption is regularly mid 50s . A 400 mile round trip to Scotland reeturned average speed 58 mph and mpg 56.8. Many features are programmable like folding the mirrors, auto main beam/dip, etc. Bought second hand at 12 months old and never regretted it.

A large, fairly quick comfortable car. Cheap servicing from main dealers. At it's best on motorways but can be hustled along on A roads if required. This is the first auto car I have ever had and I would never go back to a manual. Mine is the top of the range Elite model with added Bluetooth which for some reason isn't standard, but everything else is. I have had no problems so far.
