Great performance (180 PS version). Economy averages 40-45 mpg, 55-60 mpg on the motorway. Lovely and quiet, although poor road surface makes it noisy. Handling is great fun, enjoy 2 of the 3 settings and use comfort or sport depending on passengers. Really cosy inside, comfy with 4 adults if they are ok with the 2 door entrance and small windows. The rear visibility isn't great, but the car isn't that big so its not a problem (we don't have reversing sensors). Our kids like it in the back as it's 2 formed seats. Boot is decent size, we get a wheelchair and some luggage in with no problems, although boot lip is high. We think it's a great family car, although it's probably not aimed at this market, and plan to keep it forever, or until we get another one in the very long term future - we like it that much (assuming that when it's recalled for the emissions adjustment it still drives the same)

A great fun car to drive. Very safe because of excellent acceleration, to get out of a tight spot, stop on a sixpence brakes. Slight wind noise at speed from windows. Poor visibility from rear. Draws attention for it's good looks.

Love the car but disappointed in depreciation factor. Great fun to drive Easy to drive with the DSG gearbox and really good braking and steering. Great road holding and acceleration Great spec Fuel consumption good on long run but a bit greedy on short trips

A very good all rounder. Good boot space for luggage, adequate performance and good fuel economy.

This car lives up to the hype, I enjoyed driving my previous car, a Golf, but this is superb.

not as interesting or as practical as the old Mk2 GTI of the 1980's - more of a plaything - but a nice responsive precise and economical car - main drawbacks are: high boot sill makes loading heavy or large objects risky, the rear seats do not fold fully flat, and the low profile tyres are incredibly noisy on anything other than the smoothest French roads. It is almost impossible to see out of the back window so make sure you get the rearview camera system or at the least, the parking aid, for reversing. So not a family car or for people with bad backs but a nice second car for fun and winding mountain roads!
