Bought my C-Max when 3 years old, very pleased with every aspect, wanted a diesel to keep running costs down, pleased with only £30 road tax, good level of comfort, equipment and car is well designed, plenty of space for passengers and luggage. Looking forward to keeping it for some years to come as I infrequently change my cars. Used to drive Ford cars then changed to Mazda and now back with Ford and the C-Max.

Comfortable, reliable and fairly economical

We bought the Grand C Max to carry the two of us, three big dogs and luggage on regular trips across country of 260 miles. The car does its job well with a roof box for most of the luggage. Two dogs travel in the actual luggage compartment behind the rear seat and the other one travels on the back seat itself. Space on the depth of this back seat has been sacrificed to allow more room in the load area. This makes it unstable for our dog but the problem is solved by loading the two foot wells and putting his bed across this and the seat. He then has a huge area to lie on and it works well. As for us, we find the car very comfortable and great to drive. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Excellent car, made in Germany, need I say more!

I like the car it is economical to run and maintain and is comfortable. The parcel shelf however is utterly useless as it is so flimsy.

Why have i been told that electronic handbrakes only last about 2-3 years? what sort of scandal is this? 1000 pounds to repair a modern car every three years because a part wears out or breaks. disgraceful. if it doesn't work properly, why would you manufacture a car to include it?

I am very satisfied with this car as I am now retired and bring my wife out for drives regularly. I no longer need a car for business and my use for towing caravan/trailer are considerably limited. I previously owned a Vauxhall Zafira when grandchildren were a factor to be considered. I am glad I downsized somewhat.

I bought the C-MAX new in March 2011 from a Ford Main Dealer. The service and deal were very good.I find the car very reliable and good on snow due to the heavy front end.The economy is good on a long run, as I am getting 48-50mpg of diesel. As the engine is a newish design the emissions are low and my RFL is £30 per year. The last annual service was £190.I am only covering 6000 miles per year therefore my fully comp insurance with protected no claims was £169.60 last year. This gives me an annual running cost of £1017,which is acceptable. This does not include depreciation.I find the vehicle suits my needs as I am retired and enjoy the odd day out.I also have the flexibility to move items of furniture as required. Overall I have been happy with my purchase and will probably keep the vehicle for a few more years unless Ford bring out a Diesel Electric hybrid C-MAX.I won't however hold my breath!

On making my purchase for a new ford c-max back in may 2010 we are very pleased with the model and shape plus all the little bits we treated ourselves, I must admit when I picked it up from the showroom it looked better than I could ever imagined. The ride and the power that it produces from the engine is great, its nice to have the extra power when you need it. The interior is very spacious.

Vehicle is very practical and versatile to suit many differing uses. Performance and economy is good for this type of vehicle. Build quality is satisfactory, there are a few small rattles developing, equipment levels are very good. Main issue is high tyre wear on the front tyres, a larger fuel tank would also be beneficial.

AS A DISABLED DRIVER I FIND THIS CAR TO BE MUCH EASIER TO GET IN AND OUT OF AND AFTER ADJUSTMENT OF SEATING IT IS QUITE COMFORTABLE.

This is an early model Focus C-max, before "Focus" was dropped from the name. It is an excellent family-orientated car. It is tall enough to comfortably fit my tall relatives and has easy access to the "boot" from the rear seats. It still sometimes surprises me how much space there is inside the car. It is comfortable to drive and has more natural sitting positions than shorter cars. Reliability has been generally good. The worst fault was a split pipe in the power steering system - an inconvenience rather than a disaster. The only downside is that the 1.6 engine is a bit small - 1.8 would be better for this size of car.

Perfect for our needs, after being in the trade for some 30 years I know a good car and this is good. Perfect for comfort on long journeys and returns 40+ MPG while towing our caravan. The six speed gear box is a dream in all situations. Driven sensibly I can get up to 50 MPG.

Perfect for our needs. As we are both in our sixties and starting with problems such as dodgy knees, the slightly higher design gives an easier access and egress. Coupled with a very good petrol consumption because of the 1.6 engine and lower Road Tax, it makes quite a difference to the overall costs of running over a year. All in All, the ideal car for us.

I have had this car for 4 years now and it has been extremely reliable and drives very well. We bought it for the space in the back for the children when going on holiday. The boot is quite substantial is size and the children no longer complain about the lack of room in the back. It has been very reliable and does 54 miles to the gallon which is fabulous as I drive to London 4 days a week!

A good car but the automatic box saps the power. It's also quite poor on fuel consumption but it is roomy, comfortable and smooth.
