A very reliable and cost effective car to run. I've owned my car for almost 6 years now and had no unusual or expensive repair costs. Each year it flies through its MOT.

Bought this car last year in May when it had 28,000 miles on the clock from new. Have now put another 28,000 miles on it in just over one year. It has started every time i have turned the key, has never broken down and has never needed any significant work done when being serviced or MOT'ed. The only down side is that it is not as fuel efficient as i would like as it costs £65 average to fill the tank and i can only get 430 miles for this (motorway driving). I had the diesel version before this and obviously it was much more fuel efficient. Will continue to but Ford Focus's in the future as i cannot fault them.

Good all round car. Long distance runs can achieve almost 70MPG at a steady 60ish and 50mpg around town/work runs. £30 road tax each year for this 1.6 helps keep costs down. Bought at 1.5 years old. No mechanical issues after owning it for 2.5 years other than fan sometimes coming on and suspension struts on boot hatch failed and had to be replaced. Now has 45,000 miles on the clock. Comfortable to drive and this basic model does not have loads of gizmos. Had cars with better stereo systems although adequate. Split rear seats allows the boot to have several uses re storage while still carrying passengers. Would be happy to own another focus so thumbs up from me.

Generally a well equipped family car. No problems to date and services are reasonably priced. I do develop back-ache on long journeys despite adjusting the seat position. I might opt for a sit-up and beg driving position in my next car. For some reason I am unable to accurately gauge the front and back limits of the vehicle such that parking is rarely within the white lines. Overall a good family car but I would prefer to drive my previous BMW 5 series saloon.

I really quite pleased with this one. Very relaxing on long trips but still able to put a smile on your face at well over 40mpg

We chose the Ford Focus Estate 2000cc because we tow a caravan and own a large dog and this was one of the most economic cars for this. We only do 3000 per year so was fed up of paying for a more expensive car to sit on the drive.

Good car to drive with excellent handling. The 1.6TDCi Sport has a great spec including built-in Satnav, reversing sensors and the heated front screen. It is very economical (we are getting between 61 and 68mpg on mixed driving). Good space for four adults plus luggage.

Mk 1 Ford Focus. Very reliable. Always starts on the turn of the key. Comfortable and reliable. As it is an older car the road tax is expensive especially as newer Focus models get cheaper tax with the same engines.

Highly reliable (only problems: 2 lightbulbs in 8 years). Excellent handling. Engine a bit gutless, unwilling to rev, noisy at high revs.
