Ford Ka reviews

My Ka was great at first, reliable and easy to manage. But as the milege went up so did the problems, ive had to have the clutch repairs, a whole new clutch and brakes / brake discs done. Ive had her for 4 years now. Everything is just going on it. It is now costing me almost £60 a week to keep her running, i do a lot of miles yes but it is drinking the fuel. I put £20 on two days ago which was just over half a tank, i have driven around 60 miles since then and i now have to fill up as its half way in the red. It is a great car for a first car and getting used to the road as they are an easy drive, not to mention you can park anywhere! But if you want to do long distant driving, motorways and country roads this isnt the car for you.

Bought for my first car, and despite some issues at the end (I didn’t look after it very well in all fairness) it was reliable and speedy for what it was.  Defined recommend for first time drivers

Good first little car, unfortunately it was super rusty and brakes were awful. I wasnt expecting to keep it for 3 years, it made it to 2 but the head went other than that it was reliable. Brought a bigger car now so I'm happy

Got an old KA as my first car and it was a brilliant little thing. Wasn’t amazingly fast but what speedy for what it was. Had a big problem with rust but apart from that I love it.

Got it as a gift, the engine in there is brilliant, solid and reliable, shame I couldn't say the same about the bodywork for the others but mine has got 0 rust at all, it's only been welded twice but since then I've rustproofed the whole car. she's a good car to go places with

we bought this car to take my husband who is now disable and my son who has cystic fibrosis back and forward to hospital at 8 to 9 years old we thought we had a good reliable car now i have been told the entire rear sub-frame has rotted and some front parts are also rusted through including the oil sump pan (aren't they all the fiat parts ?) so faced with a £1500 bill on a car i am still paying for i am now faced with the fact that the repairs are not worth doing so i will be minus my car and still paying for it and cant afford another FORD have been far less than help-full even after being told by one of their own dealers that no sub-frame should rot out within that time and called it defective parts the rest of the car btw is fantastic but i implore you all to go check your sub-frames asap

having bought the car from a garage the car is practical all good rounder

For a car that is now six years old, I cannot fault the KA. It is comfortable enough for the journeys I normally do and the engine is not sluggish in any way. Great small car and only £30 road tax.

Lovely little car, I am extremely happy with, fits my way of life exactly.

I have had this orignal KA since new & it's a great little car. Easy to park, drives well, great for city life & looks good. So I do not understand the rationale for Ford deciding to change the design & make it bigger a few years ago. I will not be buying the new design, too big & unattractive.

i recently purchased this car, as ive just started to learn to drive, and was unable to practise in the family car due to engine size etc. this is a perfect size little car to be able to practise in. its a great fun, little car to drive. and i am looking forward to driving and owning this car for many years to come. :)

overall a very good car, however when we got it home we found that climate control only blows hot. a little job for our local garage.

Reliable, quick, easy to manoeuvre. Hard ride but stays online when pushed a little. More room than expected inside with a reasonable level of interior design. One problem, with short driver in family, they find the dashboard lights and indicator panel partially obscured.

Never let me down, nippy car, sufficient space although slightly cramped in the back, very economical with petrol and easy to park. Had from new and would consider same car when replacing my car.

This is my second KA - the first KA I used daily for 11 years and had very few problems or repairs required.

I bought this car as an ex demo 5 years ago. It has been absolutely fantastic. I've never had any problems. We leave it standing for weeks at a time whilst we visit our 2nd home in France but it has never not started or had any problem on our return. Its vey nippy and easy to park. Also very economical to run. I've travelled all over the country in it. Would certainly recommend to anyone
