Brought 7 years ago, maintained at home, economical, comfortable, more performance then I will ever need, few problems that have been resolved broken front strut spring blown turbo recirculation pipe. Smokes heavily if accelerating hard and engine not up to temperature .

Comfortable, reasonably reliable, spacious motoring for 9 years . Good acceleration, 130 bhp. 52+ mpg on a 200 miles run to Norfolk. 45mpg overall in the Weat Riding of Yorkshire. Top of the range when first sold, and still going well.

The car is great, Ford's customer service is appalling. If the computer says there is no fault, then Ford's stance is sorry sir but we are right and you are wrong and they will not budge from that, I love my car but will never buy another Ford simply because of the attitude of their head office customer service they don't deserve any loyalty.

Having owned car since it was 2 years old ( some 14 years ) there has been only one breakdown / incident , namely a handbrake cable binding rear drums . The vehicle regularly carries heavy loads using full estate capacity some 60 / 80 miles , with more than enough torque & maneuverability .

My current Mondeo is the third i have owned the previous two for almost ten years each. I have never had any problems nor any unexpected costs or reliability problems The Ford Mondeo is a brilliant car and I cannot imagine why anybody would buy anything else.

The engine size is somewhat underpowered for acceleration. However, the economy is good for this car. Space is very good, but rear window visibility is compromised due to car shape.

Great looking car, Great drive and performance but fuel consumption is terrible. All my previous cars I have been able to achieve or be very close to achieving the average consumption figures but in this case I'm 10 to 15 mpg out.

I have owned this car from new (9 years now ) and have had no major problems with it , just the normal wear and tear parts - tyres - brake pads and service + mot,s of which it has passed without any work , it is a very comfortable car with lots of interior room and also quite good on petrol as I have a round trip everyday of 80 miles to work , have given it 4 stars for performance as it is not a race car but I am happy with it

I've had my Mondeo since new and hope to keep it for a few more years. It's only drawback is the cost of running it.

I have owned this vehicle for more than 5 years, bought from a neighbour, excellent economy ( over 45mpg local runs ) I have it regularly serviced by a local garage and have had no problems with the vehicle, it is comfortable, quiet, has air-con, radio and is in excellent condition for it's age, no problems with it's MOT, no rust/corrosion, in my view and excellent choice for the milage I do which is about 1000 - 1500 per year.

Best car I've ever had -- wish I didn't have to change it but it's probably going to be an expensive MOT this time.

Had this car for 3 years now and only replaced the tyres and front wheel bearings. Only major work was a starter motor. Generally a good all-rounder, good fuel efficiency for an 11 year old car, comfortable on long journeys, good road holding and driver position, good sized boot. Can be a wee bit rattly from cold but soon quietens down. Doesn't go through oil or water, but benefits from regular engine flush and oil/filter replacement. Does tend to have corrosion issues above the middle of windscreen, easily treated though so not too much of a problem. Car came with a 10 year anti-corrosion warranty from Ford, so any issues can be directly resolved by the manufacturer within that time frame. Sat- Nav outdated now but still works fine, though a new disc from Ford is a bit pricey, better off with a Garmin or similar device. Radio and heater controls can be distracting whilst driving as they require you to take your eyes off the road to adjust. All in all happy with this car and would recommend it as a cheap, reliable family car.

My Ford Mondeo is a 2004 2.0l Zetec with 143000 on the clock. It does what it says on the tin, its pretty quick comfortable and warm. It is resonably cheap to run, the best i have had was on a motorway with the cruise control set at 70mph i got 58.4 mpg, very pleased. Round town i get about 43 mpg and with the caravan on i get about 29mpg. Spare parts can be obtained from any car spares shop at a resonable price. All in all its been a good car, we have had it about 5 years with no major breakdowns.

For the size and cost of the car, the Ford Mondeo is hugely practical. We have fitted armchairs, tractor trailers, large earthenware pots etc. etc. in the boot with no trouble at all. Our only gripe is the sluggishness of second gear. Beyond that, the engine has great oomph and is a pleasure to drive long distances. The running costs seem to be increasing now it's 9 years old but, with 150,000 miles on the clock, that's to be expected. However, we use a local garage rather than a Ford dealership for servicing to support a local business and keep costs down.
