I have owned this car from new in sept 2007 and have it serviced by a ford dealer yearly , I have had no major trouble with it over that time , only the usual things like new tyres and brake pads and wiper blades and one blown headlight bulb I drive approx 17000 miles per year to and from work and it still drives great , a very comfortable and quiet car and not to bad fuel per miles either

I've only had the mondo for 12 months. Despite its high mileage it's been ultra reliable. Runs great on motorways, is really comfortable and has lots of space. Miles to the gallon isn't bad either. I can't imagine having any other car.

The Ford Mondeo has been a very good car. We would buy another one except the current one has not caused us any bother and is going very well. Struggling to find an alternative car that gives the comfort, space and performance at the Mondeo price. Downsides, when you open the boot when it's wet, water pours in. Add Ons: rear parking sensors are worthwhile. It's a big car and can be difficult to judge where the back of the car is.

Several years of pain free motoring, & then to be bitten by that hidden demon called the duel mass flywheel, out of the blue, with only 60k on the clock! "its a common fault on the diesel Mondeos" says the mechanic,"but no point in complaing to ford, as they are not interested", he continued. £1100 down, & i get my car back, working fine, but with a bitter taste in the back of my throat. i have owned fords for the last 25yrs, but i think this will be my last, & i will be giving another brand a look next year. Apart from that, it has been reliable, practical, fairly decent on the diesel(46.4mpg combined), its no sportscar, but it has a fair bit of torque, can be quite brisk,(up to the legal speed limit!), also,it can carry a suprising amount of furniture(when roped in as a removal man :)) Would i recomend buying one? - only if it has had the DMF replaced, otherwise walk on, or get a grand knocked off the price, so that you can get it done.

The Mondeo is an excellent car. It has plenty of room, performs very well. It has a huge boot which can be made even larger by folding down the back seats. It has a fairly "intelligent" computer controlling it, except for the fact that it cannot automatically change the clock for summer/winter time. That is irritating to say the least. The car has traction control as standard and also Bluetooth to connect to a mobile phone so that hands free operation is built in.

I got my Mondeo from a family member so it's been in our family for over 10 years. It has done nearly 170,000 miles and it's a petrol engine! It handles really well and feels like a much younger car. Does need a good run at things, though - the acceleration is poor. It is also VERY thirsty, doing 30mpg in town and only up to 37mpg on the motorway. That said it's a great workhorse and is regularly loaded up for family trips. It is very comfortable and quiet inside. The stereo is good and I love being able to shift the balance and fade depending on who's in the car. Considering its age it has needed little work done beyond expected running costs, and parts are reasonable. Very happy with this car and would definitely look at Ford again when the time comes.

Love it to bits - loads of quality and very good value for money. Handles well and sticks to the road like glue. Gives me the confidence that it can handle bad weather with no problem. And the Econetic engine with start/stop technology means a road tax of only £30 per year. My only issue is that the car has now developed a fault in the fuel system that my local Ford dealership is struggling to diagnose. The fuel system was apparently over-pressurising and conked out on the way to work - thankfully on a quiet road in town rather than on the A1. This is the first Mondeo that has ever let me down - and I'm on my 4th one!

The car was bought from new and has been an excellent purchase. Providing good fuel economy with very good performance for such a big and comfortable car. this is the fourth mondeo I have purchased and I intend getting another next year.Surely this tells you something about what i think of this car.

As a larger family car, the Mondeo takes some beating. Space, comfort and reliability are very good. Sensible driving can result in good MPG, whilst there is more than oomph in the 130bhp diesel lump for rapid takeoffs at junctions and for swift overtaking. 3 booster seats fit comfortably across the back seat, and the boot has enough space for a family camping holiday. The level of equipment is good with aircon, heated front screen and mirrors, with a variety of lights covering the driver and passenger seats. Its very odd that the rear seating have none and is pitch black at night. Overall, an excellent practical purchase, and they are as cheap as chips!

Our car is a lovely old thing. A great go-er on the motorway, quiet and comfortable. But, like all of us, she is getting very wrinkly - rust around the wheel arches, and where people have reversed into her when she is parked outside the house and the central locking is not reliable. Her only real snag is that she has expensive tastes in petrol - very poor mpg these days, particularly round and about London and not brilliant when she picks up her skirts and runs on the motorway. On the other hand, maintenance is cheap and easy and although road tax is high, she long ago paid for her depreciation. She and I will grow old together.

I wanted a cheap, reliable car that would carry, on occasion 4 adults and a lot of luggage. Having had much newer Mondeos previously I was happy to look at an older model and found that I could buy a low mileage 8 year old car for very little money. I expect to keep the car 4 years when the mileage would be approximately 100,000. At this stage selling the car for say £500 would mean that the depreciation over 4 years was only £2000 (£500 per year) This is normally the largest part of the cost of running a car so I am very pleased with this. Insurance (fully comp) was less than £200. At present I have driven 38000 miles and during that time My fuel consumption has been in the range 33-38 mpg, the lower figure is normally short commuting. The car is serviced regularly and of course the cost of servicing a Ford is low compared to many other cars. The items replaced on the car have been normal service items or items that you would expect to wear out like brakes and battery. I buy middle of the road tyres which again are in the lower price range. The car is quite heavy on front tyres (25000 miles) but better on the rear tyres (40000 miles. Driving a car is always a matter of taste, as you may guess I like the Mondeo. They handle ok, probably on a par with most reasonable saloons and have a performance that is adequate for most people. Abroad, on an unlimited road, whilst the wife was asleep, the speedo showed over 130 mph which is more than enough for me. Acceleration is reasonable with a 2 litre engine. Equipment is now dated and I would like a digital radio and an USB connection but everything else does what you want it to do and I cannot really think of something I would like in a car that I don't already have. Driving a long distance shows up that the seats could be more comfortable but this is normally after 2/3 hours. Room-wise, plenty for two adult sized kids in the back and the hatchback does enable you to cram an absolutely huge amount of stuff in, which, with two girls going on holiday is a necessity. When I sell this car I would buyer another Mondeo, albeit newer (but still probably 7/8 years old). If you want a car that stands out from the crowd, don't buy a Mondeo as there are a lot of them around, but of course there is a reason for that.

An average basic car with few unecessary gizmos such as sat nav, parking sensors etc. Most garages can carry out repairs easily, specialists not needed. It simple does what is says on the can.

From purchase as new, with annual dealer servicing, there has only been one tlme when the car let me down and that was due to a worn out battery. The RAC were quickly on the scene, new battery fitted and I was on my way. This car is so reliable with over 100000 miles on the clock, I don't want to change it for another car!

I spend up to 12 hours a day in my car and although its not luxury its a great work horse with great reliability .Like any car running costs are dependant on how you drive so if you drive safely and courteously I find you get good performance . the estate is roomy and with the back seat folded down there is a great deal of useful space

I bought this car 3 years ago for £700 as a stop gap until mine was repaired. Still have it a got rid of my main car, as this is one of the most reliable cars I have ever had. Serviced regularly and it sits nicely on log journeys and motorways speeds. There?s a lot of room with the seats down and a single bed fits in with the tail gate shut. No complaints at all with it.

I have been driving the Mondeo since it was introduced and I have been very satisfied with all the models I have had. Performance 4 stars. Generally good say 3.5 stars. Comfort 4 stars. Reliability 4 stars Space and practicality 4 stars. They are rather large cars to park in some supermarket car parks and gaining access to some multi- storey car parks!

Coming from an estate car with a good boot. To the Mondeo which has great back seat space for tall people. The boot space is bigger than some estates of similar size. Cost of repairs are reasonable as well as fuel consumption (considering the engine size and year of vehicle). It is a good secondhand car for families with 2-3 children and the bags without the need for a people mover.

I have had Ford cars over the past 15 years.I started with a Sierra 2 years old, then new Mondeo, then Focus estate 2 years old and now my Mondeo TDCI 2 Litre Ghia hatchback, brilliant towing car. So Fords have served me well, reliable & cost effective. Michael.

This is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. Does most of what I expect, the only downside being it's low fuel economy.

The mondeo is a excellent sll round vehicle , but due to its size needs parking sensors . The car is great for 5 adults in comfort .Effortless on motorway and great on the twisty bits. Paint can be a little delicate so needs care . Little road noise but other than that long journeys are a pleasure. Very pleased with this vehicle and its well specced for the price.
