I have been running Honda CRV's for 6 years and am impressed with their overall performance. As a Local Authority Road Maintenance Manager I travel a significant mileage during all weathers and rely on the ability of the CRV to adapt to all conditions. Overall comfort and reliability is excellent as is the versatility of the various layouts available.

I like the higher driving position and the confidence that 4wd brings. I like big wheels and tyres that cope with the pot holes better than normal cars. If the roads were better I would probably not want to pay the premium of having a 4*4 and would prefer a normal estate car. My CRV has covered nearly 100000 miles and in that time apart from normal servicing I have had to have a new alternator and a new AC pump.( both several hundred pounds) We also have a Peugeot 307 of similar vintage which is better equipped having auto lights and wipers which the Honda lacks. The Honda has a poor turning circle sometimes making the vehicle difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces. It is very comfortable in the front on long journeys but the rear seats are a little hard. I can pack a lot into the car partly because a full size sparewheel on the rear door frees up a lot of space in the boot. I think every car is a compromise of some sort but this one makes a good job of being an estate car that can cope with rough and slippery conditions. I generally average about 39mpg ( diesel) This might improve if I removed roof bars and turned the ac off, neither of which I often do. All in all I have been very pleased with this vehicle and if I can afford it will buy another.

The Honda CR-V is not as economical on diesel as it should be and dealer servicing could be cheaper. Although seating is comfortable, the noise - principally from road but also the gear change mechanism - inside the car is MUCH too loud for a car of its apparent quality/size/price range. It lives up to Honda's reputation for reliability but has had glitches. Its acceleration from stationery is acceptable but not sporty! .

I have had this car about four months. Its my second CRV and is so far proving itself a good buy. It has plenty of room good performance for a diesel and on motorway runs regularly returns 50 MPG according to the average fuel consumption display. I was even able to get 40MPG whilst towing

Perfect except for rear windscreen wiper - doesn't clear enough of the screen when driving in Europe. Battery has failed 3 times - maybe because of cheap useless Halfords replacements

After only 6 months and 3000 miles I am still adapting to this type of vehicle. Driving is good form visibility and control.Petrol consumption is still not as good as was forecast.Space is extremely useful but cleaning the car is a problem due to Height of roof. 4WD should be of benefit in worst of winter.

purchased second hand - one previous owner - in 2002. The vehicle caught my eye on a dealers forcourt and I've never regretted buying it. The design, colour (a pale gold) and 2litre performance, all fitted the bill, plus features that one would not have anticipated for the type of vehicle. The comfort and upholstery have been maintained in my 13 years of ownership and when the weather permits I can open my sun roof or park and use the on-board picnic table. Mechanically it has been very sound and little has had to be replaced except tyres and broken side windows plus a stolen radio on the 3 occasions a ratbag broke into it. I would be loathe to part with my CRV because it has given me so much pleasure over the years and has never let me down.

This is the first time I have owned a 4 x 4 and I am very pleased that I have bought one. I very much like the Honda and although I have owned it for less than 1 year I am sure that I would buy another one. It is very comfortable and all the instrumentation is well laid out.

Spacious, reliable, acceptable maintenance required. My car has 172000 miles on the clock and still starts first time and run smoothly no matter what the weather. Only downside is fuel consumption is really bad, and due to this the fact it has such a small tank means a lot of stops when your on long journeys. This is my 2nd CRV and my father who has now retired has bought himself one too.

Comfortable, well equipped and fairly quiet. Spaciuos interior. Handles well for a 4x4. Fuel consumption heavier than expected - official figures somewhat optimistic. Not quite as versatile as older model CR-V I owned, more estate car than utility vehicle. Overall i'm satisfied with the vehicle, but would prefer a bit more acceleration for overtaking.

I changed from a convertible BMW to a Honda CR-V due to my increasing difficulty in getting in and out of the BMW, especially since it was 2 door and the doors were very wide. I have only had the Honda CR-V since July 2013, so it is a bit early to comment with knowledge. For me it is quite comfortable and I love being able to get in and out easily. It is very spacious inside, but the outside is not too "tank-like". I cannot say yet what the average petrol consumption is yet, but it seems better than my BMW 3 Series Convertible.

reliable and economical when towing, lots of space inside and a pretty decent drive too!

Have had this second hand Honda for 18 months. First time I have owned a 4 x 4. Very happy with the performance. I don't drive long distances very often, but frequently drive 120 miles to visit family. The car is comfortable, practical for my car boots. I have had a major service on it and the garage reported that the car was in good condition.

We are very satisfied with the CR-V and will most likely but another when we next purchase a vehicle.

most reliable car I have ever owned One new brake caliper and new set of discs due to corrosion after extended holiday layup Regularly tows my boat / regularly used on sandy beach 105,000 miles and still looks like new apart from few minor scratches received in public parking places eg supermarket car parks. 100% reliable - not particularly trendy but great interior space and reasonably comfortable Friends with newer model not quite so positive

Has now done 112,000 miles with a petrol engine, of which I have done 64,000 in the last 6 years without the slightest problem. It is practical, comfortable and well equipped for a 13 year car. My only criticisms are it is underpowered and the fuel consumption is awful, 30 mpg at best. I would definitely consider buying a newer CRV but with a diesel engine.

Excellent practical vehicle. Lots of space for both everyday use and travel. Also capable of being used as a small van with the rear seat down. Automatic 4x4 function gives control in the winter. Plus every conceivable extra from Sat Nav to Heated seats makes this an excellent choice for those not too interested in looking flash.

In purchasing this car I was looking for a car with comfort and a 4x4 option when needed. The car fits the bill. Although I have not yet experienced it in snow, in all other aspects I have only one concern. The fuel consumption is poor. My previous Volvo S80 Auto with a 2.4 engine would return an average of 42.6MPG where this car will only give me 35MPG. The best I have had driving smoothly and not over 50MPH is 44MPG. On motorways driving at about 75MPH I got 46MPH with the Volvo but the CRV only returs about 37MPG. Having said that, the CRV is very spacious, has a great turning circle, a good driving position and my top of the range EX model has all the equipment you need as standard. Would I want anything else from it? A bit better fuel economy but I love it just the same.

I use my CRV primarily for towing a caravan and for longer journeys. It lacks, to some extent, sophistication but this is more than compensated for by reliability and easy competence at towing. It is substantial without being bulky and whilst not as economical as the newest version, it is nonetheless turning in 30mpg with a medium to large 'van behind and 44-47 mpg when driven solo.
