I have owned Jaguar XJ's for 25 years. My present one-an XJR, is the best car I have ever owned. It's now done 165000 miles,virtually trouble free. It is serviced at regular intervals by a firm of Jaguar trained mechanics. The downside (obviously) is fuel consumption,but you must expect that when you buy a 4 litre supercharged car. Sadly I do not like the look of any of the new era Jags and it is unlikely that I would buy one.

My current XJ has levels of comfort and equiptment that my previous shape XJ ,while a great car, could not hope to match. I have gone Diesel with this one too, the previous one being a V8 Petrol with Supercharger. The real performance is really not much different, though I do miss the thunderous accelleration occasionally, but the Turbo Diesel is plenty fast enough in modern road conditions and leaves most car behind. Economy is truely amazing for such a big car, 30mpg in town the norm and near 50 on a long run. Having run the last three shapes of XJ this one is without doubt the best.

Great comfort and restful driving experience for driver and passengers. Running costs reasonable taking into account low depreciation on older car purchased secondhand. Proper maintenance is essential. Conducive to steady careful driving but good performance available if required. A pleasure to own, drive and look at. Excellent value for driving experience and enjoyment, a great car.

Stunning performance with amazing comfort fairly easy to maintain

The car is great in most details but has had a power fault 13 times in 12 months very disappointing

Very comfortable smooth ride, independent suspension needs maintenance, hence 4 star for reliability, excellent gearbox, needs fluid change at high miles. my mileage is now 146000. still drives like new. aluminium body and excellent paint work makes this car look good for the year.

Main selection of car is for the interchange between homes in France and England with space for luggage and wine, comfort and economy, with easy adaption for driving on left or right

A beautiful car which has great performance

This is my fourth Jaguar - much prefer the older XJ models. This is an XJ8 Sport with a genuine 78,000 on the clock. It's a lot of car for very little money. Why anyone pays tens of thousands for something newer but not as good is beyond my understanding. Spares and servicing are both very reasonable and the old girl is very reliable - it has never let me down. I have no intention of changing it in the foreseeable future.

This car is just total quality, everything about it says class. Its roomy, very comfortable, it has obviously been very well looked after. When I drove it home, I was on the motorway, doing 70 under cruise control, and this car was pulling over 50mpg, which I am delighted with, I bought the car to be used, I would recommend this car to anyone.

Owned 4 Jaguars from 1994 all XJ's 1994, 1997, 1998 (V8) and finally 2004 Aluminium body V6 3 litre. purchased for £2,500 in April 2014.Mileage 134,000. Took it to Main Agent in Leicester for a check over, and subsequently spent £1,000 Approx on sorting out the previous owners neglect. This is now a beautiful Red Cruiser, and makes you feel good, sailing along the Highway, with the quality sound system playing "Glenn Miller favourites," with the occasional Frank Sinatra CD. Perfect for Retirement. Only problem is " High insurance premium".

Im very happy with my new car

Having had this 2012 Jaguar XJ very low mileage car for almost a year, I'm like a kid with a toy. It has more power than any car I've ever had - and I've had some powerful cars. It's just a joy to drive, even going to work! The ride is somewhat like a sports car as it has low profile tyres and you have to be extra careful not to kerb the wheels. Being hypercritical the voice command system is a little "long winded" but that doesn't spoil ones enjoyment of a beautifully built and joyful drivers car! Well done Jaguar you have a winner!

This is a good looking, luxurious and comfortable car. It needed some tlc after the previous owner neglected it but it is now a joy to drive. The previous owner was a smoker and it took a long time for the smell to subside and could do with an interior valet. I will be buying another Jaguar to replace this as it is an eye-catching car you can be proud to drive and is not just another run-of-the-mill clone.

Fantastic value for money; great car to own and drive.

Not the most practical vehicle but I like to be different, I am not one of the eurobox herd commuting to and from work every day.The Jag has proved to be extremely reliable and I carry out all maintenance myself.

My present car is my 4th Jaguar and I've owned it now for 5 years. While there have been occasions when problems (Crankshaft sensor & Water pump failures) have caused difficulties it has been a most reliable vehicle. All my servicing is carried out at a garage that specializes in Jaguar's (It is NOT a main agent) and they are both highly competent, reasonably priced and will always look for the best and least costly way of doing all work required. Inevitably age, as well as some deterioration to the body work, makes it likely that I will find a change necessary in the next 18>20 months I will replace it with another Jaguar as, while they might not be the most economical, I find them really reliable and very pleasant to drive.

Although an old car with 130,000 miles on the clock, my Jaguar is still highly reliable, comfortable, safe and stylish. I was born and bred in Coventry, home of Jaguar, and have driven Jaguars for 25 years. I shall keep this car until it dies and then replace it with another.
