OK, you might say, you are comparing with Ford Anglias and Cortinas!! True. BUT, I have owned dozens of cars & about 12 sports cars over the years and have an MX-5 now. This is the first Kia and it ticks all the boxes, it is comfortable, reliable, practical for double golf gear and I average around 57mpg over the years I have owned it. I bought it at 8 months old with 5k on the clock from Motorpoint, it has now done 34k. In the last 6 years I have had 2 new front tyres and windscreen wipers. The deals I have had on servicing have been fantastic! Third year cost was about £365 (not sure of exact figure) but I could have it done for £270 plus a £1 for the next year!! I had to ask the service manager to say that again!! Yep, it was correct. Apparently most people said "no, I'll just have this year!" Doh!!! The car is always returned washed and cleaned. I have had one problem with it, twice now waiting for the Isle of Wight ferry I have been unable to start it before driving on to the ferry, seems like there is some form of interference there preventing the key signal from reaching the start. Last time I put the key on the starter and it worked. As I am 79 now, this will probably be the last car I will have but I am sure it will see me out! P.S. I have no association with Kia.

Had this car as a hire car. It was so bad I borrowed a friends car instead. Gears: It won't pull through and demands you lower the gear. So, in traffic at say 30 mph in 3d, slow down a bit, you can't stay in 3rd and 'roll' you have to drop to 2nd but by then you're to slow for 2nd and have to go into first to speed up as the traffic speeds up. A clean drive off is almost impossible unless you concentrate and you shouldn't really have to do that for a modern car of this size. Stalling is frequent. Lane assist: This is almost lethal. On this hire car it randomly chose when to enact the LA. And even saw white lines when there were none! Every time you start the engine you have to manually turn it off. Hazard lights: Randomly come on. Locking: With key in hand out of the vehicle it says key is not in car and will not lock?! Took me 2x 40 to get it locked. No idea what I pressed but I pressed everything to get it to respond to locking. Noise: The tyres on it made it sound like a wind tunnel all the time in the car. Power: Once I managed to drive off with the feel of GT power. That was it. Interior: Dark like a cave. Visibility: Very poor. Rear view mirror set up blocks a good 10% of your view. Dash: Digital speed info vanished, no idea how to get it back. Overall the car made me very very angry.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of driving Kia Proceed for a few weeks as a hire car. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody for very many reasons. I had the GT version and acceleration was very disappointing. As a GT car I honestly thought it would be quick but it wasn’t at all. The seats are very uncomfortable, especially for someone who is 6ft tall. Zero space behind a tall driver, not even my child would fit there. This was the ‘estate’ GT, but there so little space in the boot you can actually fit a lot less than in a hatchback. So if you are looking for an estate, this is definitely not the right choice. Suspension is so stiff that I was in pain just after a 20min drive. Apple CarPlay didn’t work most of the time. You plug it in and then have to wait about 10-20min before the car would actually see a phone was connected. The Lane Assist almost killed us twice and a cyclist as well. When trying to go around a cyclist on the road, Lane Assist took over the steering wheel and violently threw me back into the left Lane and straight onto a cyclist! Super dangerous and should have never happened. Worst thing is, you have to manually switch Lane Assist off every single time you start the engine. It’s on by default. I seriously haven’t got a single good thing to say about this car. At least now I know to avoid this and all other Kia cars as well.

I wish I'd taken more care of my 2008 Kia Ceed, totally my fault if it looks a bit battered. It still runs perfectly, passed its recent emissions test with ease. The only mechanical failure in the 12 years I've had it has been the front ceiling lights console falling down. It's now taped in place while I decide whether to replace the car before things start to go wrong, or to trust it for another couple of years. Though it's low mileage, it has done a lot of mountain roads.

This is the tech ceed loads of extras feels small and nippy but it's not so small. Love this car planning to drive long distance in a few weeks time would usually take the insignia but the reviews are so good I'm taking the ceed. Best car I've ever bought will keep to kia for the next one.

I bought my Kia ceed 1.6 diesel GT Line a week ago and I’ve already driven over 500 miles in it. 67 reg ex demo car. With 8000 miles on clock. I love it. Great value for money at £14250. Mint condition inside and out. Too many extras to put them all in here and a seven year warranty. Looking forward to years of fun.

I have had many cars during my driving life. This is without doubt one of the best cars I have had, (my second Kia ceed). Alex

I have had the car from new, I don't do a high mileage and the car is ideal for my sort of motoring. It has a good size boot, it is nippy and reasonably comfortable to drive. I have it serviced annually always at the main dealer, although this is probably more expensive than having it serviced locally I think that it will probably help to keep it's price slightly higher when I come to sell. The car is almost seven years old and still has the original tyres and battery, so all in all I am quite happy with it.

Kia believe in the reliability of this vehicle as they offer a 7 year warranty. The last 2 I have bought were "KIA approved" which means they renewed the 7 years so they will effectively be 8.5 years old before they are not in the scheme. No other manufacturer has this much faith in their product. The Kia agent I use for services provides the best service I have ever had in over 5 years of driving.

Owned a previous Kia Ceed for 8 years and was very pleased with it. Hoping this newer model plus the advantage of the estate body will prove as good a car as the last one. So far I have not been disappointed.

bought it on basis of "which" report and to date have had no real complaints. Performance etc is what you would expect from a no frills family hatch. I've done continental/uk distance driving and found the car to be sturdy and reliable.

The Kia cee'd is the ultimate car, spacious, comfortable, easy handling and cost effective. The seven year warranty is excellent value but I don't think you would need to use it. This is the 100% best value car ever made this side of 2000

Unassuming and practical family car. Goes well on the motorway, giving 41mpg, and cross country is has just given 48mpg. It is comfortable on long journeys, the tyres being the major source of noise. I generally arrive relaxed at the end of a journey.

As my title asks, why buy a Kia? In all of my years of driving many cars, I would NEVER have chosen a Kia, call it badge snobbery or whatever you like, but that was how I felt. What changed? My youngest son bought himself a new Kia Pro Cee'd GT 3 door, the result for me? TOTALLY won over, so much so I bought a new Kia Cee'd GT 1.6 turbo petrol 5 door in Fusion White on 1st March 2016. I originally narrowed my choice of new car to. The Kia and a Ford Focus ST3, being honest, the decision was quite easy, the list of standard equipment on the Kia far outweighed the Ford including a fantastic 7 year warranty, (and a saving of over £4k v the Ford). It's an extremely eye catching design and nice to look at, especially the stunning diamond cut alloy wheels, (again, my opinion). Cabin area feels and looks classy. It's a lovely place to be in with heated steering wheel/front seats, satnav, ( extremely user friendly with built in TOM TOM traffic updates) reversing camera, part leather seating, refrigerated glove box, centre console with storage space, sports mode dash change, the list goes on and on. How does the Kia drive? Drives nicely, plenty of power when required and so smooth through the revs/hear changes. MPG ave 35 around town, although I have not yet been on a 'long run' I have achieved 48.1mpg on a motorway run trip of 75miles. So, overall happy on fuel costs AND I love the sound of the petrol engine. Any negatives? Hard to find (but I'll try). Could be a little quieter, although not unacceptable, I suspect road noise from tyres. RFL £295 (£205 after first year). Might affect some people, my advice would be, don't let it, it's worth it overall. Well, that's me done, hope it's been of use to you all. Thank you.

great car with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a much higher price car. Smooth ride and seats are really comfortable. Having had it for just a few days we are unsure on the running costs so we will be checking on that as we have just filled the car with petrol.

Had been looking several months for an auto replacement for my 2003 VW Passat estate. This 2011 Kia Cee'd ticked most of the boxes although mileage a bit higher (51k for 3.5 yr old) than I would have liked. Initially concerned as Kia has image of "cheap" but very pleasantly surprised at feeling of good build quality, comfort, driving position, great cabin and under-boot storage provision, and level of equipment. Don't think I got a bargain but that was down to my decision to px the Passat and take Kia immediately to save having to return to Car Outlet. Kirt and staff gave great service even dashing off to Post Office before it closed to Tax and topping up tank. Only (minor) problem noticed is heated rear screen is missing a few elements but hopefully local Kia agent will sort at next service as there's still balance of 7 yr warranty.

I bought my Ceed a year ago when it was 6 and a half into its 7 year warranty. Test run before I bought it showed up that the gear changes were not as smooth as my 20 year old Renault 19 but I put that down to me not being used to a more modern car! Over the last year I have had increasing difficulty with gear changes, particulacy first and reverse. It is presently almost impossible to get into reverse gear without turning ff the engine first and I am now having to decide between replacing the gearbox or buying another car. I am dsaapointed and have the feeling that the car has been designed to last the life of its warranty and no more?
