I've owned many estate cars (BMW, Ford, Audi, Mercedes) and the Renault Laguna Sport Tourer is far better than all of them. Remember that, when it came out, the 2.0 dci was the most powerful 2.0L diesel and, with Nissan underpinnings, the 150bhp lump (now choked by emission gadgets) will shift and outperform a brand new Focus ST-Line. Bose sound, TomTom sat nav, heated leather etc.. and now for about £2000 (100k miles). In fact, the GT version (170bhp and 4ws) proved quicker than a Porsche Boxster S round a track. Get one.

not the best for space and speed, but excellent for reliability and economy

Why is it Renault's policy to no longer sell the Laguna, or its successor the "Talisman", in the UK. Such a brilliant car - I've had 3 Lagunas since 1995, all comfortable, much used, and almost faultless.

Nothing special, easy to drive, long journeys are easy and quite restful when using cruise control. Very reliable car.

Have had the vehicle from new and have had nothing but niggling little problems. Although a comfortable car it is very unreliable as has had continual small problems. It has several faults now although not to make it unroadworthy but no dealer is interested in taking it in part exchange for a new car so will keep it until it falls to pieces and then send to the scrap yard where it belongs. No wonder Renault no longer sells the Laguna in the U.K. as nobody wants to buy one!!!

I have had my car from new, and have now clocked up almost 160,000 miles. During the time I have had my car, apart from regular maintenance and a new battery and tyres, I have been completely satisfied with its reliability and economy. It still turns in around 35 mpg around town and 50+ mpg on a longer journey. I remain very satisfied indeed with my car.

Had thus car for over 10 years, showing signs of fatigue but never really needed much work. Will look at getting a Renault again when the old girl finally gives up

Unfortunately not very reliable, may have purchased a lemon. Even thought it is fully serviced and mot'd every year, breaks down on a regular basis and parts are very expensive to replace.

Very comfortable with all the toys. Mine is the 2L 150bhp version and has done 84k miles and so far sweet as a nut. Fuel consumption is great for such a big car - I'm averaging 49Mpg- but it could do with more torque for my liking. My 90BHP 306 diesel has much more pull when moving off or rolling on the throttle, but the Laguna can fly if I let the revs rise. Not as much space in the cabin as I expected. My previous Signum was definitely much better in that respect, though I am a big guy. Width is the issue more than anything else- (my right shoulder pressing on the door pillar) but I find that on a lot of modern cars with side airbags. Boot space is good and my 2 large dogs are quite happy even with the back seats in use. Overall I am very pleased with it and would definitely buy another one.

i was looking for a car that was reliable, comfortable for long journeys and economical but also reasonably powerful for overtaking, then i took a Renault Laguna 1.5 DCi for a test drive and was amazed by its performance and comfort so i bought the car and have been very happy with it since. it is very good on fuel especially on long journeys and road tax is only £105 per year, I would recommend this car to anyone.

Drive a Laguna as a Company car for over 7 years. Never had any trouble, breakdowns or gliches (probably get one next week now!) Wouldn't be ideal as a family car as the boot is limited in space & it lacks leg room in the back. Company car fantastic! No allegiance to any make or model of car but can only comment as I find things

Its a great car in so many ways, performance, handling, driving pleasure and comfort. It isn't reliable enough and costs far too much to run.

Very pleased it serves me well. I get a bit fed up with the computer logistic thingy when it shows a warning ligt and doesn't give an idication of seriousness. Very comfotable ride and a good old workhorse

I know it is a french car but mine is good well maintained and looked after reliable and comfortable economical and everything works as it should ok servicing is a little bit more because of the price of the parts It is cheap to ensure even my 19 year can drive it (£500 a year fully comp 2 years no claim bonus if she had one cheaper than her old 1.4 polo same year)

Spacious, very comfortable car which can be expensive to maintain. Once waited 15 weeks for a part from main dealer. Shocking.

High maintenance cost. Lovely luxurious car to have with auto locking, SatNav, auto parking etc. Shame its costly to maintain.

The Laguna has been reliable and very comfortable. The performance is good and the Diesel engine makes like of hills and is very quiet. Much superior to some petrol cars that I have driven during the same period. It is sad that Renault has discontinued the Laguna as it will be difficult going to another make for a replacement.
