I just switched from ford to Renault and having driven fords for nearly 20 years I have been won over by the Renault Mégane scenic dnm vvt Purchased for a mere 450 pound and just touching 100k on the clock, this baby still turns over first time every time. There's so much space and storage inside. The kids have their own drawers under the seats and little compartments in the footwell as do the passenger and driver. The boot is a fantastic size. I ho early cannot fault this car, the ride is smooth it's surprisingly easy to park and it looks great too. Definitely consider one. Sorry ford... Its Renault's turn

2005 Renault megane scenic 1.5 dci 100bhp. Great car, brilliant on fuel, very spacious, low insurance. Nice and comfy car, holds the well and the small but fuel efficienct 1500 dci 100bhp engine is pokey enough. Keyless entry and start only just bought my 05 plate for under a grand and only 50000 miles. Very happy with the car nice gearbox in the right place up on the dash. The digital dash and electric automatic handbrake are cool features this car has. Would recommend.

Bought this in 2001. Its now 18 years old and driven by me for the last 17. What a car. 148k on the clock. Original engine, clutch, gearbox, front suspension components, and rear too. Rear silencer box just replaced. People often laugh at Renault quality but then tell you what they have to replace on theirs. This one has outlasted my expectations. It is mostly free from corrosion everywhere and as near 100% reliable as is possible. Practicality is amazing, with removal of seats and a front seat that goes flat allowing long items in. The fixed point roofrack positioning is one of the best and only roof rails are better. There are things that could be better eg cheap squeaky plastic fittings but economy has improved with age and a lot of the squeaks come and go with the seasons. Typical economy 37 in town, mid to high 40s on motorway.

I am very satisfied with my Scenic. I find it very comfortable and even on long journeys I feel quite fresh when I arrive. It is also a good height for entering and exiting the car and gives good viewing area as I am sitting a bit higher. Repairs can be a bit more expensive!

This car is spacious, comfortable, reliable, economic and a great drive. It makes you feel on top of the world as you sit raised above many of the other cars on the road. It is fantastic for children and has a 5 star safety rating. I have been involved in a couple of small accidents and have felt very safe and had no injuries. The car coped well in both occasions. Neither of the accidents were my fault and I was glad that I was in such a safe vehicle. It has plenty of storage space and a good sized boot. The dashboard is well thought out and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a good family car, not the newest on the roads but not bad looking. Has all the whistles and bells, cruse control is now a must for me - love it! A tip, keep the leaves and muck out of the drain holes in the front engine or water will fill up and enter the front of the dash and cause all sorts of water related problems. Alarm goes off at the slightest, whatever! but is so quiet we no longer care. Also the tax is a little steep in my mind. Apart from that its a nice car.

Suits my needs for comfort and ease of driving.

I find this car is very suitable for my needs because I have had a replacement hip and knee and am awaiting my left side to be done in future. I find the car easy to get into and drive. It is economical, reliable and very comfortable. This is the second Scenic I have had and I would certainly consider buying another one.

Good family car, loads of space and storage with flexible seating options. Very reliable and ok on fuel.

The car is now 16 years old and still gives a great deal of comfort; access for someone with hip and leg problems is easier as one has to raise oneself upwards getting in and sliding out enables wease of dismount.

On third Scenic, as none use oil, have never filled radiator, other than garage service I do nothing to it but top up windscreen washer and very occasionally tyres. Carries 5 comfortably, or can load it easily, and can easily get 50+ to gallon.

This six year old model is very sophisticated, and very comfortable. The driving position is excellent, and provides good comfort even for long journeys.

A very useful car for elderly or infirm as the seats are high off the ground and so much easier to get into and out of.

I have owned my Scenic, for four years. it is currently on 234000 miles, and still does an average of 45MPG (info from trip computer) ,it uses very little oil every 5000 miles. I was always a rover person until I bought my first foreign car, a Scenic, it is comfortable and there has only been two slight problems , at the last MOT it needed two Ball joints, and the original alternator has recently given up the ghost( not bad for almost a quater of a million miles) I would not have a second thought about having another Scenic

Our 'luxury' Scenic has just passed 100,000 miles and is still going strong. It's the 3rd car in our stable and mostly used as a van to transport scenery and equipment for our local drama society/schools/community groups with the 3 back seats removed. Our children have left home/have their own cars but before the exodus of kids it was brilliant for packing to go on holiday. It tows a small dinghy. It's quiet, easy to drive and park, economical. Yes, the bodywork is 15 years old so it is a little damp in heavy rain from the front sunroof, but it dries out in the summer. It's had various suspension issues but it's because parts wore out which is fair enough. We may need to finally say goodbye to our workhorse next year with retirement looming but it will be hard! Can't imagine another car giving so many years uncomplaining and reliable service.

We bought this car and drove it home today. What a bargain! The guys at Osbornes garage did a fantastic job with price. And the condition of the car when we collected was imaculate. My daughter also bought a car the same day and drove it away. She is deliaghted and considers hers a steal at the price. Thanks guys. Andy Moore

I bought it brand new in 2005 after an awful lot of contemplation as I intended to keep it a long time, which I have (it is now 8.5 years old with 81,000 miles on it) I needed a car with lots of headroom as I am very tall, one that had a good seating position as I have back problems and one that I could afford! (I got 0% finance over 4 years!) I have had it serviced regularly (but not by the local Renault garage as they are way too dear!) and it has been well looked after. The only major problems with it were a hole in an aircon pipe after 3 years, a hole in a diesel pipe after 6years and a blown EGR pipe after 7 years, otherwise only what I would consider normal expenses associated with keeping it going. It has acres of space inside and when the rear seats are removed you can fit nearly anything in it! It still drives very well, is still very comfortable and altogether it was a very good purchase but I now need an automatic so I am sad to say it will be going!
