This car could be an all round great car/- for summer use that is. Terrible heating and defrosting system, you will be sat in your car for about 20-30 minutes before the front windscreen even considers defrosting/defogging. Front windscreen fan is very small and only concentrates on the middle area of your windscreen where as other cars the fan in places so it cover the whole of the area. Really bad car for anyone who has a cold and icy season!

After eight years of owning a Golf MK6 1.6TDI, I recently purchased a Seat Leon 1.4 TSI FR as a replacement and what a revelation! The Golf felt like an knackered old barge in comparison even though its one owner, serviced every year and done 66K miles. The Leon is sooo smooth and comfortable to drive, silent and refined, superb handling, really a very impressive car that deserves to be on every Golf, A3 potential buyer shopping list. Build quality, fit and finish and cabin materials are all top class and stand in comparison easily with anything else "premium" in its class.

I love my Seat Leon, I have had it for over a year now and it’s not let me down one bit so far as compared to other cars. I work outside my home city so 3 days a week I travel by car Which adds up to 140 miles

SEATs have the floorpan, suspension and drivetrain of the VAG with the associated history and performance. The seating in the FR is very comfortable and supportive. Driving the car is a real pleasure. I feel that the design of the body and trim are more pleasing than the Golf or Audi.

Good looking and easy to drive, as good quality as my previous car (Audi A4 Avant) but lighter steering, lots more equipment including sat nav, DAB radio and LED lights with same load space in a slightly more compact car. DSG gearbox excellent. May go for 4x4 version next time.

The Seat Leon ST 1.6 Ecomotive is a joy to drive and is responsive and economical to drive. The only draw back is if using a child seat in the rear middle seat then the car body is not really wide enough for two adults to sit either side in comfort. Reaching to buckle up the seat belts is a bit of a strain. Much preferred my old Citroen Cases Picasso in this respect.

50+ mpg and peppy with it. Loads of toys, reliable, cheap to service.

99400 miles, Dealer serviced (SEAT Crewe), only changed front discs and pads (75000 miles) and rear discs and pads (90000 miles) otherwise perfect! I average 50 mpg and mainly sit in traffic but do use the power to pass slower vehicles. Nothing has gone wrong with the vehicle.

Amazed at what fun this car is to drive.Averages about 50 to the gallon and is very quick if you want it to be.This Leon has the Tech pack which includes Sat Nav and hands free telephone linked through blue tooth. Has a roomy feel and is adequate for an electric trolley and Golf clubs in the boot. Also has LED headlights and all round LED. And DAB radio. Firmish ride but not uncomfortable. My only very small criticism would be road noise above 60 is a little intrusive. If Seat could overcome this they would have a perfect family hatchback. Would I buy another one? Without doubt a great car!!!

The SEAT Leon 1.6 Ecomotive brings the trappings of a larger car at the cost of a smaller one. Good value to buy (much cheaper than nthe equivalent VW Golf) but even better value to insure and fuel. And of course there is no tax to pay each year. It adds extra comfort and ambience to the frugality of my SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive which it replaced. Use your money for yourself rather than give it to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

A very nice car. This is my 2nd Mark 2 Leon. The 1.2 TSI engine is quite powerful. On a par with my previous 1.6 litre vehicle. The stop start system is very good too. The 6 speed gearbox is very smooth and reduces revs very well. It can do 40mph in 6th gear on the flat thereby giving quite good fuel consumption. Road fund tax is only £35 pa. Insurance is similar to that for my previous car but road tax is much lower. It is a very comfortable car good adjustment and support from the seats. The inbuilt info systems are very good too. Blue tooth, sat nav, DigitalDAB radio and CD. The automatic lights are very efficient too. Road holding and suspension are very good not too soft not too hard.

I love my Leon and it's one of my favourite cars so far. If I'm being picky it could do with a little more power especially up hill and a more instant response on acceleration (this may be because it's not new?). This being said it does have a sporty feel about it, handles well and is a really nice car to drive. As with many cars, there are not enough adjustments for the drivers seat so I tend to end up slightly too close to or too far away from the pedals for comfort. Due to the slope at the back this can effect what large things you can fit in the boot. However, for the size of car it has decent space and a good sized boot and I prefer a car to look good and be fairly practical rather then be completely practical but loose the looks.

A good sized and reliable work horse. Done over 115k with minimal problems, just tyres and routine services.

The SEAT Leon hatchback (older style)has safety features that come in very handy if you are a woman driver; eg: the remote locking system works only at fairly close range and will lock again if the driver's door is not opened within a given time limit; there is a choice for opening either the driver's door only or all doors; after starting the journey, all doors lock automatically and cannot be opened from outside, or by children playing with the handles inside. On the whole, this car is a very likeable vehicle, but could be improved by clearing the windscreen more promptly of condensation, getting the heating going sooner, and preventing water to lie at the driver's side door frame after heavy rain.

How did VAG let SEAT provide such a good spec car well below the price of the golf. 140bhp and only £30 tax per year. Great performance just had to get use to all the additional gadgets including sat nav which is all included as well as the daylight lights etc. A bit of road noise which may reduce when I have done more miles but at an average of 50mpg you cannot go wrong. It persuaded me to go back to VAG after a disastrous spell with a Golf a few year ago.

A VW Golf GTI in a totally different and more attractive body. Fast, comfortable, reliable and economical. A faultless piece of engineering with all the extras one could wish for as standard, unlike the majority of other manufacturers where you have to pay for all the 'Add Ons'. This is my second FR in the last five years. Extremely pleased with all aspects of the vehicle.

excellent on fuel and reliable, only down side would be slight turbo lag.
