This car is comfortable, reliable and is cheap to run. What more do you need.

4 star performance..the automatic Fabia has the lower powered of the two 1400cc twin cams so is never going to win the "traffic light grand prix" but is perfectly fine if you are not a boy racer. 5 star running costs...41+mpg throughout ownership 3 years and counting (probably do better in a manual). Service parts are cheap. 4 star comfort...acceptable seats and adjustments, all bits and pieces in easy reach (mine has heated seats being "Elegance " spec) Nice ride and handling. Ice cold aircon. 5 star reliability...not let me down yet. ( I speak of a low mileage example..its 12 years old with only 47000 miles) 4 star space & practicality...5 seats, split rear fold down for extra luggage space. perfectly adequate for the trips to the garden centre ,or diy shed.Loads of "cubbyholes " for odds and sods.

We have been driving secondhand skodia fabia since 03.... They are reliable and very reasonable with private sales. We have run our Home Maintanance using all cars. We have loaded it up for many camping trips from Wales to Thurso/Scotland, Wales to Southern France to surf for 2 weeks. It's cheap to run, roomy and reliable......

Has available most of the extras normally associated with larger cars eg heated seats, cruise control, reversing assist and so on. Does not have the latest parking assist. On the whole it runs very well although the turbo charger failed after only 1500 miles. Also it seems that it is one of the VW cheating engines that will require "adjustment" at some stage which rather dents my confidence in the product. Comfortable with reasonable leg room in the rear and a surprisingly large boot space. Good miles per gallon, up to 59 mpg on motorways. This is not what is advertised though. In the booklet it suggests 78 mpg. However the actual mpg does compare reasonably well. Although in the supermini size, it has had 5 people on board which is very good for a small car. Road tax is £20 a year.

This car is excellent for long runs but for short runs the DPF clogs up and of course this may be due to the VW scandal which includes the engine on this vehicle and for which I await a date for the recall to be remedied .

Have downgraded from a diesel Octavia and so far am delighted with the Fabia which is exceeding my expectations in terms of perfprmance and economy.

Very good balance between performance and economy, but would prefer 4 cylinders.

Great small car. Have had none of the reported issues of noise or lack of power. Getting between 65-93 mpg. Very pleased and usual bomb proof build at good prices.

Had previous model of this car for six years and no problems, this model has lots of annoying problems,, as others have said, wing mirrors are pretty much useless in the rain, rear window gets covered in road dirt when it rains and if you open front windows even a little you get a shower, and air blower resistor has been replaced twice in 18 months, and it is not cheap, and front tyres wear pretty quick, tracking seems to be an issue. I have solved the problem of road dirt on rear window by fitting mud flaps which are not fitted as standard. Apart from that it is a pretty good and cheap car to run. Would I buy another one? probably.

I would highly recommend this garage. Martin & Sheila were friendly had all the documentation available and checks done with the car prepared for me to pick up after a train journey from Cornwall. The drive back was a good test & very pleased with everything

I bought this car as I needed a car to use everyday and I am very happy with my purchase. The car is very roomy and comfortable and it hasn't been difficult to adapt to. I have not bought a Skoda before and I am very happy with it.

Best car we've owned, in terms of practicality, specification, performance and fuel economy. Although we have owned a car with a larger luggage capacity, this is the only one that my wife's wheelchair fits snugly into the luggage compartment with ease, and yet still accommodates our holiday suitcases and holdalls.

The engine is a 3 cylinder turbo diesel which is surprising economical even with a load of tools/baggage. There is a good volume in the back which is close to that of the Peugeot 306 estate which was my previous vehicle. I find the A pillar obtrusive at some junctions. I am not a fan of high rear quarters in cars as they make it more difficult to see rearwards. I would buy another (Mk 2) fabia, basic spec.

This is the third Skoda Fabia that I have owned, and I am happy that it is the best small estate on the market, and represents good value for money.

All things considered, a good reliable car. Considering that it is now 10 years old, have experienced expected maintenance issues.

The Fabia II 1.6 90ps TDI hatchback is easy to drive, has good performance, is fairly economical, is fairly comfy .... but it wasn't designed in a wind tunnel: In rain the wing mirrors cupolas create back eddies causing the mirrors to get covered in drops of rain making it difficult to use them; you can't drive with the front windows partially open in rain as you will end up having a shower! and, the rear end and window get covered with road dirt if there is any moisture on the road. Reliability is questionable: In 2 years from new: A/C-Heater resistor pack failure; new front discs (distortion) and 2 new wheel bearings!

Having faced the reality of a move to North Northumberland and the presence of two largish estate cars on our drive, I reluctantly decided to part with my beautiful X type Jaguar whose diesel power returned excellent performance with 40plus mpg. My wife'sxperience with Skoda Octavia 4x4 took me to our local Skoda dealer where a test drive convinced me that a 3yr old Fabia hatch would be an ideal replacement. £30 VED and over 60mpg if driven with care (and 50 plus if driven with more panache) has proved the wisdom of the decision to downsize. Even our two dogs are happy in the back of the Fabia (now equipped with a full size spare wheel).
