Would just love heated windscreen standard in all cars ,surely reduce accidents. Otherwise very pleased with performance for engine size, more like a 2litre engine and very nippy.

My second Octavia and the best cars I have ever owned. Massive boot even with the seats up, 60mpg+, no breakdowns in 10 years, servicing costs reasonable, best value for money in its class.

I have had this car from new in March 2007 and we have covered an incredible 394,000 miles, yes nearly 400K it's not a typing error. Serviced every 20K as it should be, the only major items changed alternator and air conditioning conpressor. So this has been and still is a really good car and would reccommend this car to anyone. My business is private hire, to and from the airports mainly, hense the high miles.

I sold my X-type Jaguar and bought the Octavia. I am very pleased with it. Fuel consumption is one of the differences(the jag was a 2l petrol giving me about 25mpg) enabling me to get over 50mpg. The car runs very smoothly. the gear change is very smooth. Wind noise is slightly higher than the jag. The car is very roomy inside with plenty of room in the back (the Jag was very bad for room in the back).Handling and response are very good, The boot is large and there is lot of storage space in the car. As an older driver the biggest prblem I have is the electronics. Getting to find out what you can do and controlis, to me, quite complicated.

I drive over 140 miles a day on the motorway plus shorter trips at weekends. I find the Skoda a very smooth ride, albeit a little noisy. It is easy to drive and steady, almost feeling like it is sat on rails. The build quality is excellent and all the interior trim feels solid and robust yet easy to operate. Fuel economy is good and it's easy to get 64mpg plus on the M25 every day without being a snail or an idiot. Also around town I routinely get 45mpg. There is a good throttle response and excellent brakes. Inside the seats are comfy with good support and even the rear seat passengers get looked after well. The heating/lights/radio etc all work well and are straightforwards to operate. Boot space is more than enough to transport a student to/from University every 8 weeks with space to spare. I will definitely buy another Skoda for my next car.

After running a BMW 325i , then an Audi Quattro 2.8 , both petrol , of course , I now run a Octavia VRS , again petrol , which is just as fast as the other 2 , better built , lacking only a few niceties , it is also cheaper to run , a great drivers car !!!

This is my second Skoda and i have been very pleased with it. I consider it to be very good value for money in terms of the price that I paid for it, the running costs and its flexibility. I would certainly consider buying another, when i come to replace it.

The plastic/chrome effect around dashboard area gives rise ti reflections in windscreen and side windows. Distracting on most days but worse on sunny days. Where the body pan meets the chassis pan the join on both offside and nearside rear looks like scratch marks. The bonnet opening in car device takes some finding and getting to. The actual operation of the car is excellent but does the eco device of engine stopping whilst car is stationary really save fuel?

I acquired my Skoda Estate second hand, but not at all old. From day one, it has run beautifully, over 50 mpg around urban areas, 60 mpg motorways and rural. I get Leeds to Glasgow and back on less than a tank. Space is exceptional, a full set of camping gear and luggage slips in leaving the rear window clear. Space for passengers is very good front and back.

We bought this car used with 90,000 miles on the clock and have owned it for two years. It has been completely reliable, far cheaper to run than our previous car (a Vauxhall Frontera) and we are very impressed with Skoda dealer servicing and customer care. I would happily recommend this model to anyone considering it. Especially since the Audi equivalent is much more expensive for far less interior refinement and equipment! I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Skoda.

I purchase the Skoda Octavia based on economy, space for a wheelchair plus luggage, good performance and reliability. It has proven to be excellent in all respects and far exceeded my anticipations. I particularly like the DSG gearbox giving either fully automatic or manual gear selection.
