when we were looking to change our vehicle a couple of years ago, the main things we were looking for were boot space, reliability and comfort. The skoda octavia ticks all these boxes and more, I drive around approximately 400 miles a week and have found that this vehicle as to be one of he best all round purchases i have ever made. It as never let me down in the 3 years I have owned the vehicle, is very comfortable to drive and in my opinion good economically on fuel. Would recommend this car to anyone who as a family as the car is very spacious.

This is the second Octavia Estate I have had and in every respect bar one I have been delighted with both vehicles. I was persuaded to have an automatic when I changed 2 years ago, more or less at the same time as fuel prices started to spiral out of control. Boy do I regret changing to an automatic. Under all circumstances I am experiencing at least a 10 mpg reduction in what I was getting before. I don't know whether I will buy another Skoda but I do know whatever make it will be, it won't be an automatic.

Highly recommended in snow and bad weather, will comfortably drive through 1 foot of snow uphill from a sloping drive (15 degree) Good fuel economy, fair comfort. My only gripe is slight drone from engine/ body at aprox 2100 rpm especially if car engine load high, (you can live with it)

Although sportier version with enough oomph when needed, it also has reasonable comfort and a good ride. Although based on Golf GTI engine and chassis, its extra length gives very good leg room in the rear seats, and cavernous boot. It has been very reliable, not needing any unscheduled maintenance not even brake pads until over 80,000 miles. Labour cost is generally quite reasonable. Slight downs are front tyres do wear a little quickly and is a little heavy on engine oil.

Have owned many types of cars over the years. This VRS has been the most reliable - trouble free of them all. One minor down side with all that power on the front wheels it needs Michelins to last any length of time. Only had two repairs in six years: the aircon' and window motor.

It's not a car that sounds exciting... but it does everything I need, and does it well! It has plenty of power, is comfortable on long journeys, does decent economy, handles pretty well and has tons of boot space. Plus the back seat has at least as much legroom as my old Passat, and more width. Everything seems solid and well made, and though it's not particularly plush, it is perfectly comfortable and the car has everything I need.

MY SKODA HAS BEEN AND IS A GOOD CAR GOOD ON FUEL BUT AS BECOMING AN AGED CAR IS STARTING TO GET MORE AILMENTS BUT NOTHING TOO MAJOR BUT WOULD RECOMMEND A SKODA TO ANY ONE, MY CAR HAS ONLY DONE 66000 MILES FOR IT'S AGE WHICH IS A Y REG THIS IS LESS THAN SOME USED CARS

The Skoda offers value for money, it is strongly built, reliable and reasonably cheap to maintain, however, I find the car very uncomfortable, but versatile.

This car was bought new, and has never let me down. It eats up the miles & at the legal speed limit returns 60.5 mpg. One little niggle: the reversing sensors have a cable that runs under the rear screen wash tube, which drips on to the cable and shorts out the sensors. This design fault needs to be rectified. We do a lot of town driving; and in 81,000 miles, I have only had to replace the tyres once! My local dealer is very expensive for servicing, so take it to a former Skoda dealer, who lost the franchise, and there I can talk to the man with oil under his nails, rather than a young lady who has no idea what she is talking about! (They are also a lot cheaper too!) Cannot recommend this car highly enough. I hope shortly they will bring out a decent hybrid one, and am hanging on to this one until they do.

The Octavia is a really great family car, with loads of space in the front, back and boot. The only reason it is not getting 5/5 for everything, is because we bought it second hand earlier this year, so our only experience of the car is after 6 years wear and tear. One of the biggest selling points to me is that the engine is chain driven, so there will never be a timing belt issue with the car. If we are ever in a position to replace our car, I would definitely stick with Skoda Octavias.

I have had my skoda octavia classic estate from new and have done 394,000 miles my next service will be 400,000 miles. What a fantastic car apart from normal sevicing, oil filters etc every 20,000 miles..brake pads are changed at 170,000 miles. The only major parts changed so far are the alternator and aircon compressor. Not bad for nearly 400,000 miles!!

I am very pleased with my new Skoda Octavia. It is more fuel efficient (by 5+ miles per gallon than my previous Octavia), rides quite smoothly, has smooth gear changing, good all round visability, and a huge boot space.

A totally cracking sporty saloon, fuel consumption is great considering the "performance" tag the car has. The cost of a comparable car in the VAG group is far less.
