A VW for Skoda prices. What's not to like? Had many VW's , 8 IIRC, and my Octavia is as good as the best of them.

My car is roomy, comfortable and.quiet. For both local and long distance(Austria) it is comfortable and economic. The seven speed auto.box is a pleasure to use and has no bad effect on economy. The car is frugal in oil and tyre consumption and the service interval is annual and reasonably priced.

The car is let down by very uncomfortable seats and not suitable for the long journeys I brought the car for. Also the dash board is very creaky on the passenger side, the dealer has failed to fix the problem after several attempts. All other aspects of the car are fine. The boot is very large and great for getting my Mums mobility scooter in.

Because Rover had become such a rubbish car I changed to Skoda, which at the time was offering a very good package. I bought my first Octavia the weekend that the model was introduced and I am now driving my sixth, all bought brand new. They have all proved a joy to drive and absolutely reliable. Petrol costs and servicing have been acceptable and I have not had to spend on anything else. I would certainly recommend anyone to buy one. Well done Skoda!

Impossible to adjust the height of the beams manually for continental motoring as controlled by sensors back and front. The black patches sold by the AA to convert dip lights from left to right don't work on xenons. So the car is automatically illegal in France. If there's a way to convert the beams left to right it is only possible when connected to the vehicle diagnostic system - so TOTALLY impractical. The VAG group should be told to get their act together and make sure all cars sold, at least in the UK and Ireland, can be converted without the intervention of a dealer. This is BAD DESIGN.

This car represents excellent value for money. It's fast, comfortable, reliable, and cheap to run. It does, however, have a couple of less attractive characteristics: 1. tyre noise is excessive; 2. tyre wear has been extreme, exacerbated by the fact that it was supplied with some Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tyres which were frankly rubbish. It's much better on Michelin Pilot Sport 3.

I really like my Skoda Octavia. It looks good, runs well and is very roomy and economical. I liked my Kia Shuma but this is even better!

Have thoroughly enjoyed owning and running this vehicle. Has met my expectations in all respects. The 4x4 wheel drive has been most useful during winter in the Highlands, particularly in slippery, icy conditions and on unpredicatable road surfaces/conditions in more remote areas where I travel. Fuel economy is excellent on longer journeys. All in all, the car has been very reliable and practical. Would gladly own a newer model if it were an option.

A very reliable, roomy and relatively economical vehicle. Most of the taxi drivers in my area use them so I think that that speaks volumes.

This is a great car. It is reliable, comfortable and spacious and the MPG is very good, varying between 56-62mph depending on the type of driving (motorway or local). Moreover, this model has a computer which makes it easy to check the MPG. The interior design is well thought out with maximum use made of the space for storage. I particularly like the way the floor of the boot compartment lifts up to reveal a space for keeping items that one would not want to leave on view or items that would other wise clutter up the boot space and possibly roll around when driving - e.g. jump leads, torch tool box etc. Overall, I would say that this is the best car I have ever owned.

The Skoda Octavia particularly the L & K is well designed and well built. It has many extra features e.g. reverse warning, automatic lights, automatic wipers, air-con, which should be on all quality cars. It does not need topping up with oil between services. It has a very good fuel consumption better than 45 mpg even after over 80,000 miles

I drive long distances,(a woman)on my own in fairly extreme climate and geography, I need comfort, good road handling, reliability, reasonable space and ability to tow a reasonably sized trailer and as I choose to live on a low earned income need economy. My car is a pleasure to drive fits all these requirements and I feel safe whilst driving it. I researched quite extensively and went to some considerable effort to find the make model and right car (in terms of price and condition). I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought this car new to replace a ten year old Rover. I particularly like the amount of space there is in the car. There is plenty of room for driver and four passengers. The boot is big enough to take all our luggage on driving holidays to the continent and any rubbish for my occasional visits to the tip. During my commute and for any 'touring' journeys I usually get 40+ mpg. The downside of the car is probably the size. It is quite a heavy car, although I only really noticed it when I had to drive up a hill on snow last winter. Also it took a while to get used to parking in marked bays as it completely fills most bays in car parks. Overall I am pleased with the car.

Best car I have ever owned, and I have owned at least twenty. It is fast, reliable, plenty of space and returns 40+ mpg regularly. It is comfortable to drive, effortless on long runs and fantastic for overtaking. I can tow my caravan comfortably in 6th gear and still hold speed on most hills on motorways.

I am pleased overall, my only gripe is the engine is a bit noisy compared with my previous Citroen C5 estate
