I find this vehicle to be reliable, with reasonable running costs. It has been a comfortable vehicle but understandably at 13 year old now is less comfortable than a new vehicle.

Best car I have ever had. Wish it were still in production

Now getting old. Would like a newer one!

Had the car since new with very few problems - car is comfortable, spacious and reliable. The only negative is that in wet conditions (especially on inclines)the back end can slide out when starting to move e.g at lights and roundabouts.

My 2000 Toyota Corolla, bought 12 years ago, has now done 156000 miles and has always been very reliable. The bodywork is still in extremely good condition and the running costs have been low although it does use a good deal of oil. I can't claim that it has great performance but it does always go the distance and I will be very sorry when I have to get rid of it.

Totally satisfied with this car - do not know why they stopped producing it. Totally reliable - in 10 years, had no problems whatever.

I have found this car to be reliable, economical and very flexible for loading. It is particularly good for transport of my mother, who is disabled as it gives plenty of room for wheelchair etc and is a higher seat position than most compact cars which makes it easier to get in and out. Driving is comfortable and easy with no blind spots and I feel very safe in the vehicle. It is easy to park and has a great turning circle in tight spaces. Fuel economy is great, I can budget for a normal month of fuel usage and it compares very well with similar cars that family and friends have in running costs overall. I have had no major problems with this car since I bought it four years ago, the only expenditure (in addition to tax, insurance, and MOT)has been replacement of brakes and tyres. A really comfortable and economical little car, if I have to replace it I will go for another compact and very probably a Toyota again.

Generally excellent car. Able to get above stated fuel economy. Only let down is the poor climate control that assumes if you set it to heat, you want to roast your legs.

I have found this car very reliable, it has a low mileage for its age, and so far has been easy to maintain. It was well looked after by its previous owner.

I've had this car from new and it has been consistently reliable and I have spent very little on it except for regular servicing, replacing worn tyres, battery, exhaust. It is easy to drive is quite comfortable and has an excellently sized boot for such a small, basic car. It's only drawback is that it is not terribly powerful and sometimes struggles to get up hills. As a family, we've had a number of different Toyota models and have found them all to be incredibly reliable and not too expensive to service or when sourcing spare parts.

Bought secondhand in 2003, has served me well, and my garage look after the vehicle well.

I have had this car for ten years and have found it very reliable, easy to drive and needing no garage attention except for the annual service. It has quite a high road tax though.

As with most Toyotas, reliability is excellent. No major problems apart from normal wear and tear. Still on original battery; exhaust renewed 2013. Bought at 3 years old the servicing is still undertaken by the same main dealer, only annually due to low usage. Costs are reasonable, made more affordable by availability of budget plan payment scheme. A reasonably comfortable small family car which presents good performance due to 1600 cc vvti engine, reasonable economy (38-39mpg average) and reasonable luggage space. Would I buy another one? Yes, but it would have to be the Auris (Corolla replacement). Would be very interested in the hybrid version but if not affordable would be inclined to go for a smaller engine than currently.

As reliability is a key priority of mine, I have been extremely happy with this aspect of my Corolla. At almost ten years old it is now approaching the time to trade it in for a more recent used car, but because of my experience will certainly be considering another Toyota as a replacement.

Great drive. Permanent problem with dash sensors. £800 to fix one problem of seat belt air bag light, and still one engine management one to go. Toyota main dealer and other garages have charged me over the years but not fixed it. The sensor lights have been only real problem.

Owned this car from new which has now covered over 170,000 miles. It still has the original engine, gearbox (6 speed) and clutch. It has been totally reliable having never failed to start in 14 years. It regularly returns 42mpg but has been consuming a bit of oil since 80,000 miles which needs to be checked regularly. Service costs are reasonable, although some parts are expensive. The Michelin Energy tyres last for over 40,000 miles and whilst not the cheapest to buy, are certainly cheaper over the life of the tyres. A set of other branded tyres only lasted 25,000 which I guess is still good by anyone's standards. Overall, an excellent reliable car.

It's reliable, it was a surprisingly nippy car considering that I was dreading the loss of power having 'downgraded' from a 2.8 BMW Z3 ! Halving the cc made an obvious difference to my annual fuel bill as well as the maintenance costs of BMW versus Toyota. It's practical and I am very pleased with it BUT... The audio system is terrible and has an ancient style display in the shape of black lcd on a drab background screen. Even when it was new in 2002 it looked old fashioned. I WISH it had a 12v power socket in the back compartment (Toyota used to put them in their Previas many years ago). Having a 12v socket would be really useful for my camping trips; after all, hatchbacks are supposed to be versatile.

Nothing special but it's reliable. Less time off the road, less time spent trying to find a suitable garage for repairs. Less money spent on repair and less time making alternative arrangements to get to/from work. What more do you need to say. Reasonably comfortable. Reasonable performance. Good economy. More costly to buy but you more than make up with it because of not having so many (if any) repair costs and much less messing about.
