It's a mini MPV (why the AA don't offer this as an alternative in their selections I don't know). It goes relatively well, is relatively comfortable and good for transporting relatively rumbustious relatives (in this case, the kids). Basically DWISOTT.

Adaptable & spacious. It allows us to take our bicycles to our chalet on Norfolk coast. Can do the miles with relatively little maintenance. Performs well.

Good interior. Restricted vision when reverse parking. Inside windscreen prone to misting up in cold weather neccessitating increased use of windscreen heating element. Suspension on the hard side - I use Dunlop tyres. Maybe a change to another make may improve this? Drivers sun visor 'failed' after only 65,000+ miles - never happened on any other car. Poor design. Toyota didn't want to know as outside of normal warranty period. MPG varies between 35.6 and 50.0 - fairly good. 5th gear not high enough, may be worth considering the 6 speed option.

Possibly the best vehical for my needs that I have purchased thus far in life. Build quality, reliability and general overall comfort has been and still is excellent

A great family car and good space for moving large items. Could have more efficient braking system though.

We needed to upsize due to the birth of our son. Having had only good experiences with our Corolla and Yaris, we swapped the Corolla for the Verso. It wasn't quite as new as we hoped, but we trust the brand and were happy with the mileage on the one we identified. The test drive was also good. We took the plunge and I couldn't be happier with it. We have the sportier SR version and it has plenty of bite for overtaking, whilst offering a very smooth and spacious ride. There is a very generous boot and driving with 5 and a full boot offers no discomfort, although the centre seat belt in the rear could be designed a little better. Reliability has been great although there was a minor issue with build up of silt in the exhaust, which caused a minor judder. I took it into the dealers and they advised that it needs a good thrash to keep the exhaust clear. I generally change gear between 2-3000 revs and the Verso still serves you well for overtaking and setting a reasonable pace on the open road. I wouldn't usually push my car to 6000 revs but I now find a suitable point during my journey to work each morning. The problem hasn't resurfaced since. I don't think running costs are overly close to those of some of the competitors so if this is a big thing, you may be better looking at an alternative. For me, reliability, space and comfort are the main priorities as my mileage is about average (15-17000 miles per year). I wouldn't swap my Verso for anything, unless I won the lottery, in which case I would probably by a new one for the family to go alongside a new Aston Martin to run around in!

This is only the second family car we have purchased in 20+ years and therefore we had high expectations! We were replacing a much loved Galaxy and so were looking for a car with the same amount of usable and practical space - but with better seats as I was finding it very difficult to keep removing the Galaxy seats when I wanted larger boot space. We did a lot of searching online, looked at consumer websites and test drove another MPV before settling on the Toyota. However finding a second hand one within mileage and budget range was harder than we thought- you don't see many of these on the road but there are not many to buy either! we have been delighted with the spec, the drive is very comfortable and seems economical. Only having to fold the seats for extra boot space is wonderful - very quick and good for my back! Highly recommended but I hope we won't be selling ours for a good few years.

Our Corolla Verso has taken children and all their belongings up and down motorways, to and from University, for the past 6 years. It has been brilliant in terms of space and reliability, and the diesel is pretty frugal too. Perhaps a little expensive initially but good value over the long term, and thoroughly recommended

Fantastic car rides well great room, great for day trips out with grand parents they even fit in the two small seats in the very back. Also great seven seater large boot when two pull up seats are down.
