Bought to replace previous meriva. Used to transport myself to and from work (30 mile round trip) and also elderly parents with limited mobility. "Suicide" doors and hand grabs make for easy access and plenty of leg room. Boot is roomy enough for wheelchair, although quite high to lift into. Running costs have been fairly good and no issues at all with reliability so far. Altogether very pleased with purchase.

This is the second Meriva I have owned. I had the first one for 8 years and found it practical, versatile and reliable. I am fairly happy with the new model but does it really need to have SO many controls? After a year I still don't know what all the buttons do and the air conditioning is a complete mystery. I never know whether it is on or off - quite important when it significantly affects the engine power. Still - overall I like the car and the visibility is much improved on this model. The only thing I really hate is the electronic parking brake. What's that about? OK if you have three feet, I suppose. Inching up an incline in a traffic jam isn't too much fun. PLEASE, Vauxhall, if a good old hand brake is good enough for most of your other models, why not for the Meriva?

My old banger is still great but will move over for another model shortly. I'd love to get an exact replacement but sadly changed the body to have different rear doors. I just can't decide what I want to replace it with. It will either be a new style Meriva or possibly something like a Dacia Duster, which offers good value for money.

Comfortable ride good seating position, having a 1.4 turbo petrol engine nimble enough for quick start reasonable mileage around the door, quite good on longer journeys.

Very comfortable and reliable and amazing what can be packed into it because of the versatile arrangement of seat folding and flat rear space. Also fairly high seating makes it easy to get in and out of without having a high 4 x 4.

I have not had this car for that long, but very pleased with it so far. The fuel consumption is excellent for the engine size and has plenty of power when needed. Looks small but plenty of room inside. The unusual rear door opening makes getting in and out far easier than the conventional arrangement.

I find the car to be nippy and comfortable in the front but find the rear seats uncomfertouble it is also noisy under high acceleration. The car has been reliable and service cost are accetable. The dashboard is clear and easy to read and gear changes are smooth. I find that the front pillows can make it difficult to see when turning round etc plenty of boot space

Practical car. This is the second Meriva that I have had. Would buy another one, but not so impressed with the newer design.

Having checked out other makes and other Vauxhall models, the Meriva is most suitable for myself and my wife.

Good concept as a car. Practical shape with good capacity for size of car. Clever rear seat options. Controls easy to use. Serious design fault with "A" pillar arrangement that causes a dangerous blindspot on both front quarters. This should never have reached the production stage without a rethink. The Easitronic gearbox is rather jerky in full auto mode but better in manual mode when it becomes a clutchless manual and becomes more involving for the driver. However this system is long-term unreliable and not really fit for purpose. When it goes wrong --- note that I say when, and not,if, then it becomes staggeringly expensive to repair. From personal experience I would advise against this system. If you require an automatic, then play safe a get a traditional torque converter system.

My Vauxhall is a pleasure to drive and buying it means I am investing my money in my country. I cannot fault Vauxhall its models are great and varied and reliable. I will always buy Vauxhall. Kevin Southwell

Flexible interior suitable for many uses - a practical car. Lacks a little in comfort and specification, but adequate for the type of driving I do which includes occasional long trips of over 300 miles. If I have a criticism it is the front offside pillar which seriously obstructs the view through the windscreen when taking righthanded bends.

Went from Zafira diesel to Meriva petrol and automatic to manual, Meriva did not come in auto. Diesal was to expensive as a local transport car. Lovely car for driving, still prefer an automatic. Hate the rear doors they face the wrong way, novelty at first but not very useful and get in the way most of the time. Petrol wise more eco than the diesel. have a 1400 turbo engine more than sufficient and just as sporty with some oomph when needed. All in all a good runner and happy with the purchase. If I had the money would go back to the Zafira for the room.

I bought this car because it was cheaper on Road tax and on Petrol - previous car was a 2l Automatic. It serves me well and is good as a people carrier and also for goods.

The boot is a little smaller than I'd like but the car gets me from A to B when I need it to. Chosen because out of 7 makes/models I sat in it was the only one where I could comfortably reach the clutch as I have proportionally short legs! I was replacing a Ford Focus which I loved but the newer models have a longer stretch to the pedals. (Why do manufacturers change something that works?) The Meriva has proved to be a good substitute for my much-loved but 13-year old focus.
