ERG Valves have had to be worked on or replaced 3 times over the 6 years of this vehicle. This is the only problem I have had. If I could get rid of the ERG valve requirement this would be a great vehicle.

Originally a good car and not worthy of the press criticism but engine, tyre & wind noise has always been higher than expected. Fuel consumption has increased so even on a long run I don't expect to reach more than 42 mpg, whereas it used to be 46. Main dealer services since bought new and had first real problems in the summer which was air con and engine warning light resulting in a bill for close to £1000. Not bad for 65000 miles.

Brilliant 7 seater easily converted into 5 seater 1.8 engine excellent torque and power Use as 7 seater with family; saves use of two cars, then gives overall petrol and car parking economy. very reliable. Good all round visibility. Accomodates good-size roof box for folding chairs, tents, wind-breaks, and holiday gear. Fantastic space in boot when used as a 2 seater Can carry ladders, Christmas tree, lawn mower, 2 cycles etc Brilliant flexible seat design as 3 seater, 4, seater, 5 seater, 6 seater or 7 seater There cannot be a better family car. We have owned all makes of cars, but our last 4 cars have come from the Zafira stable. Compared with other MPV's , the Zafira price is the most affordable, and in our view, offers best value. Possible disadvantage: no spare wheel on most recent models., Would like parking distance control/alarm to be standard on all models.

Our car is 12 years old, and has rarely had anything go wrong with it during that time. We do very long journeys from time to time, and during those journeys, the engine is fine. The 1.6 Litre engine is a little too small, however - and so the engine labours at high speeds, but overall this is a small price to pay for a car which is superbly engineered, and very good to run with a family.

Excellent for my needs, recommended.

The Zafira is a good family car that we have owned since 2004. It has been reliable and starts first time. We have had the car regularly serviced which of course pays off.

We are constantly amazed at how economical this car is. We often go away for weekends, a total of six people, we share the petrol costs.

Clever middle row seat folding mechanism -- rear seats fold to full flat floor -- eco engine powerful enough, but turbo lag is noticeable -- good family car with flexible seating -- local dealer servicing & support expensive - this is our 3rd Zafira -- has served our needs rather than wants

Without doubt the best bought-as-new vehicle I have ever owned during my 50 years and 20 car owner/driver experience. Very reliable, comfortable, flexible, economical. Excellent (German market) specification compared to UK Vauxhall equivalent. Superb performance for this class of vehicle; stable, manouverable, good load carrier, excellent for high-speed & long-distance trips. No similarly elegant, compact, desirable vehicle currently available as a replacement.

It is very eco friendly and road tax is only £125.00 p/y. Insurance is less than £300.00 p/y. Down to France and back x2 averaged 42 miles a gallon, cruising on motorways at 70mph in UK and 130 km in France. Beautiful ride there and back via Channel Tunnel. Will be going for a 3rd time in 2014. Daughter has petrol Toyota 7 seater similar style to mine averaged 35 on same trip not eco friendly either. would recommend ecoflex to any body on any car.

I've only had the car five weeks and have not driven far in it but it is good. Vauxhall have sorted out their gearboxes which years ago were fairly average. The vehicle is lively, easy to drive and very confortable.. I like it. Rex Knight

Manual gearbox rather stiff. Fuel consumption too high

Meets all our needs. Slight downside is the fuel economy which is not great

1600cc engine is a little under power for this car compare to the 1800cc which we had before.

Excellent running costs, particularly on longer journeys. Easily reconfigured to accommodate either additional passengers or larger loads. Rearmost two seats are more suited to children or smaller adults, but all seating provides adequate legroom.

Purchased second hand in 2008. My main issue is about reliabilty as every so often the engine warning light comes on and promptly puts the car into 'limp mode'. It is always a worry as we travel abroad quite a bit, but my mechanic showed me how to clear the warning lights with use of a cheap read and erase fault code reader (about £11). This saves time and money in keep going back to a main dealer to run it through a diagnostic test, as actually, there isn't really anything wrong. I downsized from a Ford Galaxy to the Zafira, but still wanted availabilty of 7 seats, even though the kids were now young adults - comfort in back seats is another issue on long journeys, as they are rather thin, with not much padding. On the plus side, acceleration is excellent for an automatic and it has 'sport' mode, which is great to use on the odd occasion. Probably would not purchase another Vauxhall

this is our 4th Zafira, which says a lot, it is a practical and versatile car, it is great for an expanding family to travel together, or for use of transporting larger items, as well as being the size of a normal family car.
