Excellent buy, great garage to deal with, super helpful.

Perfect

I've had my Lupo for 10 years now and have put over 180,000 miles on it, I always service the car myself and only use top quality oils and parts, usually OM. The clutch is the original unit from new and is still perfect, the timing belt is easy for me to change and after 80,000 miles the old belt and its adjusting pulley bearing still looked very good. The fuel consumption is incredible, we get an average of about 14 miles per liter of diesel fuel, this car has saved our family a fortune in running costs over the years! The interior is much more spacious than the smallness of the car might lead one to expect, it seems to be just as roomy in the front as in my previous car, a Ford Mondeo, which is a much bigger car, my children often travel in the back and they never complain about any lack of space back there, and my kids are big! The Lupo handles and goes very well, the grip on the road is very re-assuring as are the brakes, the little 3 cylinder diesel engine pulls mightily between 2 and 3 thousand rpm with smooth power still available below and above those speeds. The car is very quiet inside and is relaxing to drive long distance. I will certainly consider another Lupo when I have to replace this one, although a Golf is tempting with the extra space in the back for our dogs.

My Lupo has everything I need. Very reliable, nippy, roomy with flexible boot space. It's a real pleasure to drive my open air Lupo.

VW LUPO is a great little car. fast, reliable, efficiant and though small the hatch back and fold down rear seats make lots of room for two's luggage. Not so good with four passengers though, but in our case that is rare.

Done over 180,000 miles in my TDCI Lupo now, fuel consumption is incredible, this car has saved us THOUSANDS of pounds and saved the environment from much pollution. Driving this very small car (and I'm a big person) is as comfortable and spacious as my previous much bigger car a Ford Mondeo, I don't know how VW have made the inside so spacious, its like Dr. Who's Tardis. My only complaint is the standard rear springs are too soft, I fitted assisters and now the car is soooo much better. I have never had this car dealer serviced preferring to do all my own servicing, its really a very easy car to service, the timing belt is the main job but was pleasantly surprised to find that I could fit it myself in less than 2 hours even though I had been fed a line of total BS that it was a difficult job (by a VW dealer) Original clutch is still going strong at approaching 200,000 miles even though its had quite a hard life! The car is still an absolute pleasure to drive and fulfills all our family needs, I will replace it with another small VW car when the time comes. This car has never once let us down in the 10 years/180,000 miles that we have owned it, my previous cars were Fords, I had plenty of trouble with my Ford cars and vans, from now on its only VW for us. I also have a VW T4 Transporter van, I have owned it for 10 years and it has also done 180,000 hard miles, its like the Lupo, superb to operate and very comfortable, but but does use a lot more fuel, so if the car will do the job I'll always use the car instead of the van but I do love to drive the van it handles and goes so well. A very economical car that is fun to drive, easy to park and looks cool too! Not an overly spacious boot but other than that I can't falt this car :)

This is an excellent car for two older people and I feel it is a mistake that it is no longer in production.
