Used Toyota Avensis
There's much to be admired in a car which doesn't rely on flashy design features or superficial flair to shift numbers. The 2.0 litre diesel is arguably the pick of the range, excelling as a motorway cruiser which remains refined unless pushed, and returns over 60mpg. Good reliability and refinement aren't typically associated with excitement, but then nor is the class in which the Avensis sits. As such, its likely to appeal to the sensible, rather than the sensational driver.
